New Here
I have been battling this since I was 20 (I'm coming up on my 25th anniversary, should I get a cake)?
I know it will never "go away". I think I have accepted that fact. But, wow, the meltdowns still happen. And with what seems like the slightest provocation.

I'm not sure what all to put here. I am very happy to begin a journey in this community.

It seems my story must be like so many others, it's hardly worth putting down on paper. Er....screen.

Anyway....hellooo....I'm Annie

Hi Annie.

Welcome to the PTSD Forum. I recommend you go to the home page and read in the wiki section on The PTSD Cup. It will help you to understand some things that can help explain what you are going through.

You are going to find lots of wonderful, supportive people here. And talking about your story really does help you.

Nice to meet you.

Thank you. I just did a little reading. I figured that I'd be reading all the same stuff as I did 20 years ago when I really started digging into this journey. But it looks like there is some new stuff. And some stuff I forgot and/or just needed to be reminded of.

And by the way, we should all get cake!

I couldn't agree more! Hi anniereborn, we are both in the same age range and both still coming to terms with the whole Jeez-not- this-again! realization.

This forum helps me deal with it all; I hope you will find it helpful, too. Welcome and more cake, please!

You know....I think I will have cake this summer. I'm a survivor!
I have survived 25 years of this roller coaster we call PTSD! Thank you for helping me see that :)

I understand how you feel -- I've been dealing with all of my issues for decades as well. But I finally believe, after a lot of superficial attempts, that things can get better with the right approach. I hope that you can finally find some things that will help you on your way as well.

In the meantime, cake always helps. Would chocolate be too much to ask for?
