God's in control. Some folks think they are. Eventually they learn they aren't. Some folks think "The Universe" is. Something's behind it! Aug 19, 2017 at 10:39 AM

I wanted to leave a note of thanks ~ For your posts over the past year or so. In which you are clearly explore a particular issue for yourself ~ but in such a way as to include everyone and help them explore the issue too. Just to say I have appreciated them :-)

I've been focusing on BULLYING a lot lately, as I was its target heavily while in school, until I beat a kid up. Then I got shunned. Bullying has many consequences. It occurs in nursing homes and at Senior Centers too, so it is by no means something that ends when schooling is over! It also stirs up past traumas deeply, from my experience. Both are situations in which the target finds him or herself powerless.

A friend came by the Senior Center today; we both had a discussion about how "No one likes to be teased." I am sure my #1 bully overheard.

I got a bit cocky today and told someone that one of my bullies is a grouch! He was there. Don't know if I should have done that, but I did.

I've not been bullied since I spoke up against the bullying to the bully and also the Senior Center Director. I pray the peace lasts! Nice.

Thanks. It wasn't easy, but the Senior Center Director has promised to have someone from Social Services come and give us all a lecture on BULLYING on the 23rd of October. I just hope the bullies don't get up and walk out.

Read in recently acquired bullying book that speaking out in our lives here at home is best to try & stop bullying bully...and that by my remaining silent well, this will not resolve a thing...(((hugs!)))

Good one @Mal Content; have never asked bully, "How can I help you?" Is there anything I can do for you?" and like you said w/compassion and sincerity...yes conviction and shame, I will try this next time...and unfortunately there will be for @SheilaKathy, myself, and so many others a next time when bully tries to tear another down. Thanks Mal!!! (Hugs!)

I grew up in a house full of bullies. What I didn't understand as a child was that they, too, are hurting. They belittle and intimidate in order to feel better about themselves. Because that's gonna work...pfffft.

Doing notta is no good; also inciting bullies does not work either...reporting when able to as @SheilaKathy has done to Sen. Center hierarchy worked for her...Love for those who are being bullied...and I don't know if asking "How can I help you" will turn Titanic (bullies) around...it is, however, well-worth the risk...rather than doing notta! (Hugs!)

I spoke up about being bullied at the Center. I also started a trauma diary, if you want to know what is going on in my life in more detail.

I'm retired, living only on a small government pension. I'm most frugal. I love to read, especially the Bible and several Devotionals each day. I love nature and the changing seasons. Winter is tough on me though. None the less, I do enjoy it from my window by my rocker/ recliner. Sometimes I will venture out into it anyway.

I'm a retired artist and photographer and poet by profession, and I do still write poetry sometimes. The art is hard as my hands don't do what they used to when I was younger. Then my photo software konked out! I'm in my 60s now. So figuring out new software or drawing and painting are hard, but I do try sometimes. I made some Christmas cards this year at least.

God is good all the time! May He bless your day. SheilaKathy
