Oh no!! I'm sorry. I put that wrong. She's not blaming me or treating me as if she thinks my trauma is unimportant. She's actually working really hard to get me past my stuck point - which is judging myself for being upset about something I consider as a non event - even though it almost killed me. The biggest issue is that terrorism was a normal part of my life at that time so I'm pretty numb about it. But until I admit it was traumatic and accept the emotions that come with it I can't move on the the bigger (scarier) traumas.

Sheera, I, too, lived in the Middle East, North Africa, for many years. I too, was there for terrorism and war, you are not alone. A friend of mine and I were the subject to a terrorist attack in Libya. I barely survived, I had a serious, long term, concussion. My dad was attacked, in another terrorist attack. His attackers came out on the very short end of the stick. Thank God. I was in Tripoli, Libya in 1967 during the Six Day War when many of my jewish brothers were systematicly burned alive in their businesses. My brother's restaurant in his hotel in Phnom Pen was bombed. People killed. Fortunately, he was not there at the time. So Sheera, I too, have a long, long and intimate relationship with terrorism and war in the Middle East and elsewhere. :( Remember what doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger. Shalom.
