This is a poll for PTSD sufferers.

I keep cutting all caffeine out of my diet, and then I give in again and again.

Green tea is my biggest weakness, and I recently awaited the taste for coffee.

I have switched to mostly decaf and it sometimes helps my anxiety. I have adhd (which overlaps significantly with hypervigilance of ptsd) and sometimes a little caffeine works like the adhd meds - so sometimes I give in again when I'm really figity and anxious. However, too much and I can't sleep. I also think it increases my reactivity.

Here is a great article about amounts of caffeine in various drinks: http://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-l...healthy-eating/in-depth/caffeine/art-20049372.

I cut all caffeine out and stick to herbal teas when my anxiety is ramped up or when I have a constant stressful environment. A couple months ago I gave up all coffee and caffienated teas except the very ocassionally starbucks for 6 months. Now I've been back to one coffee in the morning and a couple cups of tea after that some of which are herbal.

I was loosing count of how much tea I was drinking 10+ big cups of strong indian tea.

A few nights ago I couldn't sleep for irregular heartbeat, so went cold turkey. Headache and felt like crap.

I'm already succumbing to temptation...

I cut out 80%+ cocoa solids chocolate a few weeks back. I was eating so much it was giving me the shites.

Jokes about an eighty cup a day habit are an exaggeration, but not a big one.

I used to drink up to 7 cups of tea a day. Then my migraines became more persistent and I cut right down. Now where I used to drink tea I drink redbush (rooibus) instead. Tea has becone more of a luxury- I splash out on nice stuff and keep it as a treat. I allow myself 1 cup of tea a day, which is manageable. Any more now and I start to twitch:O_o::D.

When I'm not doing much (physically) I drink a helluva lot of caffeine. It's soothing.

Rough Estimates

Avg Day : 2+ 2Liters of coke a day. About 2 2Liters every 12 hours or so.
Anxiety Day : 2 2Liters + 3-8 shots of espresso per hour
Need to Sleep : 16 shots of espresso in 30 minutes

Active days, where I'm bleeding off stress via physical activity? Caffeine when I wake up, and caffeine before I go to sleep.

Super Active Days, nada. Although a little is a nice way to mellow out. So is beer.

Anxiety Med Days, little to none.

I drink one cup of coffee in the morning to get myself out of my sleeping medication fog. I try not to drink caffeine in the afternoon.

I cut out all caffeine while I was expecting and an hour after my baby was born I had a big cup. It actually seems to calm me. I switch to herbal tea about four hours before bed, I heard caffeine can mess with my meds.

I have never tasted Tea or Coffee or anything else like that, I do eat chocolate sometimes nothing for weeks Rotherham times I eat a couple of blocks over a few days.

I drink on average 2 cups of coffee a day. About a month ago I took a liking to iced coffee, making it from strong coffee, and pushed my caffeine intake up. I noticed I started to feel palpitations when I wouldn't normally feel them and on stopping drinking it, my palpitations went back to a normal level.
