These are alsteramaria lillies. These are alstroemeria lillies. They are a great cut flower to have and last a long time, as you know. And they have no fragrance so are good for those who are sensitive to fragrances. 💐

Advice needed on communication with my son

It is just plain difficult raising a teenager in the best of circumstances. It sounds like you are trying to be the best parent you can be, at the moment. Looking back at my shortcomings with our kids, I think one of the important communication issues is staying open and willing to listen. A...

Advice needed on communication with my son

You have a son who is probably struggling with loss, insecurity, confusion, as to how life fits around him right now. Is there a way that you and he can receive therapy that will help him understand the issue of your PTSD and other family issues that are affecting him? He lashes out because of...

Both of my parents were diagnosed with cancer at the same time

My mom had pancreatic cancer. It does not carry a good prognosis. And I commend your mom sending a card to your dad. She did what she felt was right for her. What the recipient does with the card is on them. Your dad's vitriol does not have to be your mom's. It is nice that you are there...

I am directionally challenged!!! 😳 The photo of the Wasatch Mountains is facing east, not west. Having spent most of my life on the west coast, everything is "west" to me. "West" is forever stuck in my brain! Ha! And never mind trying to give me driving instructions!!! If it is not...

Sufferer Recently discovered childhood abuse in my lifetime it's been rough.

You have just embarked on a new journey in your life, adamjam. It is one of learning why you feel the way you do and why you act the way you act and why you see things the way you do. You are not damaged...you are just bruised up a bit. Knowing the "whys" opens the door of understanding...

The mountain range in the previous photo, NotTooLate, with the sun peeking through is actually looking west at the Oquirrh (that is pronounced "Oh-Ker" for those who wonder) mountains. The Wasatch Mountains would be behind me when I snapped the photo. I have a photo of the Wasatch Range I...

Sufferer In the worst place of my life, overwhelmed with pain

This is a good resource to use. You are not alone in your struggles as most of us here can relate to your stresses and concerns. Glad you have been encouraged to look for support via a group such as this. Personally, I think it is the most active and most supportive one on the "net". You are...

This is a photo of the sun breaking through a snowy, grey sky, over the Salt Lake Valley. It is not the clearest photo but in real life it was a very impressive sight.

Mr. Moonlight, the cactus is intriguing. I, too, am drawn to the texture and coloring caused by the shadows. It is a very interesting photo...good job! 🙂

Two photos to share, today. The first is of some Christmas angels that intrigued me because of the flowing gowns and filigree on them. For some reason flowing and curving lines make me feel good. The second photo is what I have been doing to keep myself occupied and my hands busy. It is my...

This the sunset from last night. It was a blind shot. I had to stand on tippy-toes and reach as high as I could to get my phone camera over the top of a 6ft fence in order to take the picture. I could only hope that it was aimed in the right direction. This photo was the fruit of my labor 😁.

Yeah, there seems to be extra sensitivity when it comes to old injuries and surgeries, in cold weather, huh? Sorry you have to deal with this. I understand the medicine thing. Sometimes the effects of meds, especially in long-term use, just adds to the stress of daily life. I hated having to...
