Luke 1:49-50 New Living Translation (NLT)
"49 ... the Mighty One is holy,
and he has done great things for me.
50 He shows mercy from generation to generation
to all who fear him...."

John 1:1-5 New Living Translation (NLT)

1 In the beginning the Word already existed.
The Word was with God,
and the Word was God.
2 He existed in the beginning with God.
3 God created everything through him,
and nothing was created except through him.
4 The Word gave life to everything that was created,
and his life brought light to everyone.
5 The light shines in the darkness,
and the darkness can never extinguish it.

This is a psalm that speaks to me about how it is important for us to be supportive of one another and care about our fellow PTSD friends here. I'm comparing the Israelites in this psalm to we who gather here in the name of Jesus and who help one another in our lives to overcome our PTSD.

Psalm 122

A song for pilgrims ascending to Jerusalem. A psalm of David.
1 I was glad when they said to me,
“Let us go to the house of the Lord.”
2 And now here we are,
standing inside your gates, O Jerusalem.
3 Jerusalem is a well-built city;
its seamless walls cannot be breached.
4 All the tribes of Israel—the Lord’s people—
make their pilgrimage here.
They come to give thanks to the name of the Lord,
as the law requires of Israel.
5 Here stand the thrones where judgment is given,
the thrones of the dynasty of David.

6 Pray for peace in Jerusalem.
May all who love this city prosper.
7 O Jerusalem, may there be peace within your walls
and prosperity in your palaces.
8 For the sake of my family and friends, I will say,
“May you have peace.”
9 For the sake of the house of the Lord our God,
I will seek what is best for you, O Jerusalem.

This is so great to have a bunch of christians all struggling with the same thing! God definately is with us. Hes saved me so many times! Often when i want to die, i remind my self that God gave me everything, the least i can do is live for him...
Many bible verses too are helpfull and contempery christian music calms me. Though, i often listen to things like hillsong. They have a lot of songs like that. Or Skillet, their songs are always about hanging on even when things are hard.

Hi @MyNameIsBecca it is so nice to see you here. I like Chris Tomlin a lot. I have several of his CDs. I try to read my Bible early in the day, because having the Word in my mind and heart calms me too. If I read it early in the day, I feel closer to God all day. I have a New Living Translation Study Bible and it has all kinds of historical stuff, biographies of all the major folks in the Bible and oh so much more. Do you have a Study Bible? If not, I highly recommend the NLT one.

Psalm 100 New Living Translation (NLT)

"A psalm of thanksgiving.
"1 Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth!
2 Worship the Lord with gladness.
Come before him, singing with joy.
3 Acknowledge that the Lord is God!
He made us, and we are his.
We are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving;
go into his courts with praise.
Give thanks to him and praise his name.
5 For the Lord is good.
His unfailing love continues forever,
and his faithfulness continues to each generation."

I often bring this one to the Thanksgiving Table with me, it is so appropriate.
