    Hi Guys,

I'm 21, a University student (though only just getting through the course), and I live in the UK. I've been told by several therapists that I have complex PTSD mainly due to abuse. My concentration is pretty shot, and these days it's difficult to go through the daily motions. I manage, but it was easier when I was out of it most of the time. I have a problem with nightmares, I get them most nights. It's been bad for a year and a half, but I've had them for many years. I'm terrified of the dark, and always think that something is going to happen to me. I guess I could list loads of things about how I'm affected, but I don't want to make this too long! Basically, my mind works at it's own whim, sometimes it tells me what it's doing, sometimes it doesn't, but I rarely get a say in it.

Anyway, I guess I just wanted to wave hello, and introduce myself...

    Lisa.

    Welcome Lisa,

Being a student myself I know how hard concentration can be. I first noticed it in my workplace though, I initially just thought my proffesors were boring and thats why my concentration lacked.

PTSD is scary, the nightmares and paranoia are part of it. I can say that there are times that I scare myself, I get lost in what could happen so much that I can really freak myself out. At times when I walk around in the dark and even though I know no one is home, my mind convinces me that there is someone waiting for me around the next corner... I can 100% relate. It does get better...

    Welcome again

    DD
