Gr'ass, I have the same problem.
After cracking my back molar (I clench more than grind)
My dentist made me a custom mouthgaurd (fits top teeth perfectly)
It was fairly pricey ($300?) but completely worth it.
Trust me, it may not be the sexiest bedroom attire,
but I wake up with less intense migraines, and my jaw doesn't hurt nearly as much.
Sometimes I still manage to chew on my tongue between the guard and my bottom teeth, but at least it's less frequent, and not my cheek.
