Hi Kerri Anne and Anthony. Hubby went and saw Martha yesterday I am really worried that he wont go through with the PTSD clinic so I emailed her and mentioned my worries she arranged to have him talk to a guy who has just finished the last clinic and he seemed to be a little bit better about it he even wrote down his next appointment which he usually doesnt do I have to chase him for it.
I dont want to get my hopes up that this will fix things but if he does the clinic it has to be a positive step.

Good stuff Jen... Martha is definately one of the best in the business, and she will take care of you both, and push him at the same time when he walks through the door of the course day one... once that first day or two is over, just try and hold him back from attending when he gets into the middle of the course. Spouses attend most of the course also, just not the trauma part and a few delicate areas that the sufferers like kept private from spouses until they are ready to discuss. Mostly though, it is group. Saying that, the spouses also have spouse sessions seperate to the sufferers for the exact same thing, to help the spouses and allow them to talk freely without the sufferer interfering... The course supports you both, and geez I hope he makes it day one. Just drag his arse down there, then he'll be fine once he gets comfortable.

Hi Jods yep I had a hit on Tuesday and going again on Saturday. How are you going?
You know what I find hard is when people are always asking me how my hubby is I know they are asking to be nice but it is hard to know how to answer sometimes.
A couple of times I have even said change the subject to them as I dont know how to answer them. How do you answer my husband has PTSD and about 12 thousand other complaints!! I dont know if its just embarrassment most of these people knew him before he started having problems so its hard for them to understand?

    Jen,

The course will help him and you immensely. Saying that you will still have bad days but the course will teach your husband and you skills to deal with those. Martha won't pull any punches when it comes to treatment but then that's the nature of PTSD........no bs is the only approach. Its a step in the right direction, he will naturally become more anxious before the course starts but if you have to drag his sorry ass there do so.

Thanks Anthony I think I am worried because when he has any sort of new thing starting in his life he tends to burn out pretty quickly as he goes like a bull at a gate but I spose he will be with professionals this time who will see the warning signs I hope.

    Hi Jen,
Dont you just love that "how's he's going?" question! I must admit during the first few months I was a bit umm how would you say, blunt. "He's ****ed in the head at the moment, thanks for asking". I will add that hubby knew I was using that as an answer.
As we are now almost at our 1yr PTSD anniversary I have changed my tact. My usual response now is "He's in treatment phase right now, some days are good & some days are totally shitty for him. We like to use the old saying we can only take one day at a time. Thanks for asking."
Glad to hear your having a hit with the girls. We are dropping our little one off to nana & pas on sunday & we have booked a motel room to celebrate our wedding anniversary & going to the casino & I'm apparently eating my 1st piefloater, mmm, should be a laugh!
Have a great time over the weekend!

Yep Anthony thats him I love his bedside manner:smile:
I got out of bed this morning hubby is still in his bed in the same clothes that he crawled into bed last night. We sleep in separate rooms I am not going to sit around here all day I know he wont get out of bed until lunchtime. I am going out for the day. I am not being selfish am I? :dontknow:
I dont want to put my life on hold waiting for him to get out of bed to sit around the house all day?
