I wrote this poem the other night about how i felt after my wife died. I thought that maybe sharing it with everone would help me get back on track!! Here it goes:

    Memories not yet written,
    Taken while i slept,
    Promises unfulfilled,
    Meant to be kept,

I hold you in my arms,
Your last breathe come and gone,
    Your voice is silenced,
Yet i still hear your song,

    Last words unheard,
    Choked by the quiet,
    I want to die,
    Too numb to try it,

    The pain gets deeper,
    As the memories taunt me,
I want to close my eyes,
But your soul-less stare haunts me,

    PAINFUL MEMORIES,
    TATTOOED ON MY SOUL,
    THE NEEDLE OF DEATH STINGS,
THE INK OF EMOTIONS IS COLD,

    Awake or asleep,
    I can't tell anymore,
I cry as my faith dies,
    My head on the floor,

    I start to speak,
    So that someone hears,
So they know i still exist,
But my words turn to tears,

    My twisted thoughts,
    Come out broken,
    My silence is understood,
    As words unspoken,

    The memories come back,
    Covered in black,
    I struggle with depression,
As i make my way back,

    The ink of pain,
    And the needle together,
Tattoo the pictures in my mind,
    Written forever,

    I Cannot Escape them...

    Josh,

I've read and reread your poem.

These lines get to me...reminds me of losing my father and sister.

Thanks for sharing your feelings. *hugs*
