Hi folks tell us all about your town. Is Fort Francis a thriving town with a vibrant nightlife. Is Charlestown, a small quiet town with very little to do.
Please tell us, we may all pop round for a cup of tea.
I'll tell you about my town.

IRVINE

Irvine dates back to the 11 century, it was given the Title of Royal Burgh, by King Alexander of Scotland in 1260.
Its a small town, pop about 30,000. There are a few night clubs and lots of pubs. There is a harbour that leads out into the Firth of Clyde. We are situated 45 miles South West of Glasgow. Main industries are The Caledonian Paper Mill, Smithkline Beecham, and Rockware. There is a Large shopping mall called the Rivergate with over 60 shops. The people are very friendly and welcoming.
So that is my town.
Cheers

Charles Town is very historic. it is named for Charles Washington(george's brother) George Washington actually bought a lot of this area (virginia, then) when he was a young man, working as a surveyer. we are very near Harper's Ferry(civil war) and there are a lot of battlefieds, and reinactments here.
it is a very small town, but the area around it is growing too quickly, we are near washington, dc, and as land is cheaper here, and taxes lower, a lot of people are migrating out here. we still have a good bit of rural, dairy and beef farms, and some horse farms, too. unfortunately, the gangs from dc, and baltimore are also migrating out here, with their drugs and violence. that is about it! oh, there's a lot to do, besides the history and rafting, there the racetrack(and slots, lol).

The Cedar Valley of Iowa, US

Consists of mainly two towns merged together and several outside towns. It's on a fairly flat plain with a few low, rolling hills. The landscape includes a river that runs through the town called the Cedar River, hence the Cedar Valley. The land around the town consists of many farms. Agricultural farms, especially corn, soybeans, and pasture land. There are many hog confinement buildings around and many beef cow farms. The University of Northern Iowa calls the Cedar Valley home. It is also where I got my degree. There is some things to do. We have a performing arts center which is capable of having broadway shows and ballets. The university dome has many athletic venues as well as huge concerts. The university also built a brand new building to house the basketball and volleyball games. We also have a fairly active creative arts buzz in this town and it's evident in the many outdoor sculptures displayed around town.

I think that my town has a wonderful downtown district with many shops in the original buildings. It has many nature trails. It is a hardworking town that is growing rapidly. I do love it here. I tried to move and I have yet to find a better place to call home.

Hi Cathy, Hi Nam. They sound like great towns. In Irvine we have a large Sports Centre called the Magnum, it has a pool with slides and chutes, there is an Ice-rink, indoor badminton courts, indoor soccer, basketball, a cinema and a large fitness centre, and 2 kids soft-play areas.
Cheers

It is really little. Population around 2,000. It is cold right now. Just moved here so that is all I know. I also know there are nothing but a lot of open plains and fields of cotton and I am told the really green stuff growing in the frozen weather is winter wheat.

Memphis TN. southern river (Mississippi river) town. Only known for "The Blues and Elvis. It's also a big part of why I'm here in the first place it's known as "The second most violent city in the USA". Not number one but we're trying harder (local saying).

Lake county, CA

Small county, north of the wine country (Napa Valley). very dull area, a few indian casinos, fishing in the lake (can't eat them to high in mercury), sidewalks (if there are any in the area) roll up at 5:00 PM. Mostly bars, drugs, thugs in the area now. Use to be a rural farm & ranch community also known for pear growing.
The ranch we care take has been in the family since 1859.
not much else!
