I know that a lot of us have PTSD due to gender based violence so I thought I would share. I think his approach is so fascinating. When he talked about how boys can be so traumatized by their fathers who beat their mothers, I was very touched.

Jackson Katz, Phd, is an anti-sexist activist and expert on violence, media and masculinities. An author, filmmaker, educator and social theorist, Katz has worked in gender violence prevention work with diverse groups of men and boys in sports culture and the military, and has pioneered work in critical media literacy.Katz is the creator and co-founder of the Mentors in Violence Prevention (MVP) program, which advocates the 'bystander approach' to sexual and domestic violence prevention. You've also seen him in the award winning documentary "MissRepresentation."

I really like some TED videos, but this was the best speech I have seen from one of the conferences. It also appears to be a TEDx thing, which I know little about, so it's giving me something to go and read about for a bit. Maybe find some more videos from TED or TEDx.

My partner actually sat with me and watched this, and comforted me. It was really good to be sitting beside a man I feel safe with, who agreed with everything said in the video. It got even better after the 2 minutes, and I came away feeling hopeful. I really do hope a paradigm shift happens. From watching this speech I think Katz is brave, and brilliant and inspiring, as Lizio said.

Does the first post have a link or a video?

A problem I've noticed is that certain links (videos I'm guessing) don't show up for mobile users. I often see a big blank space and lots of replies referring to something that isn't there?
