Burn,

If you like (ABSURD) minds check out bark psychosis, Lamb, and Mouse on Mars. M83 is pretty wonderful at times.

Frankly, I don't know how people with PTSD get by without Rhapsody - it's saved my backside several times.

Old thread but I heard this song and it hit home for me so I downloaded to give me strength.

Rodney Atkins

If You're Going Through Hell
Well you know those times
When you feel like there's a sign there on your back
Says I don't mind if ya kick me
Seems like everybody has
Things go from bad to worse
You'd think they can't get worse than that
And then they do

You step off the straight and narrow
And you don't know where you are
Use the needle of your compass
To sew up your broken heart
Ask directions from a genie
In a bottle of Jim Beam
And she lies to you
That's when you learn the truth

If you're going through hell
Keep on going, don't slow down
If you're scared, don't show it
You might get out
Before the devil even knows you're there

Well I been deep down in that darkness
I been down to my last match
Felt a hundred different demons
Breathing fire down my back
And I knew that if I stumbled
I'd fall right into the trap that they were laying, yeah

But the good news
Is there's angels everywhere out on the street
Holding out a hand to pull you back up on your feet
The one's that you've been dragginig for so long
You're on your knees
You maight as well be praying
Guess what I'm saying

If your going through hell
Keep on going, don't slow down
If you're scared don't show it
You might get out
Before the devil even knows you're there

Yeah, If you're going through hell
Keep on moving, face that fire
Walk right through it
You might get out
Before the devil even knows your there

If you're going through hell
Keep on going, don't slow down
If your scared don't show it
You might get out
Before the devil even knows your there

Yeah, If your going through hell
Keep on moving, face that fire
Walk right through it
You might get out
Before the devil even knows you're there
Yeah, you might get out
Before the devil even knows your there.

Great idea for a thread. My favourite tunes are Lhasa's Living Road CD. It's all Fado which I find really soothing ironically enough.

I have so so many.... one is "My Immortal" by evanescence.

I'm so tired of being here
Suppressed by all my childish fears
And if you have to leave
I wish that you would just leave
'Cause your presence still lingers here
And it won't leave me alone

These wounds won't seem to heal
This pain is just too real
There's just too much that time cannot erase

[Chorus:]
When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears
When you'd scream I'd fight away all of your fears
And I held your hand through all of these years
But you still have
All of me

You used to captivate me
By your resonating light
Now I'm bound by the life you left behind
Your face it haunts
My once pleasant dreams
Your voice it chased away
All the sanity in me

These wounds won't seem to heal
This pain is just too real
There's just too much that time cannot erase

[Chorus]

I've tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone
But though you're still with me
I've been alone all along

[Chorus]
Basically, it gives me strength to overcome.

Tori Amos... narrowing it down can be difficult as there's so many.

Here. In My Head:

Hey, do you know,
what this is doing to me,
Ah... here
Here
Here
Here. In my head?
Little Earthquakes

oh these little earthquakes
here we go again
oh these little earthquakes
doesn’t take much to RIP us into pieces
There's many more that I love, and listen to. Evanescence does it for me, as does many of the oldies. I've been listening to a lot of Opera and Jazz lately.

One of my ex's used to say that even when I was in the worst state, he could see my soul fly when I put on music, I became a part of it. It was something I kept with me long after he was gone.

I Won't Back Down.

I was feeling very good about me and empowered today, filled with "can do" spirit and "bring 'em on, I'll take them all on" spirit, so I decided to post this song. It was first done by Johnny Cash (sp)? and later by Tom Petty. Please enjoy! Rob

Tom Petty-I Won't Back Down.

Well I won't back down, no I won't back down

you could stand me up at the gates of hell
but I won't back down

Gonna stand my ground, won't be turned around

and I'll keep this world from draggin' me down

gonna stand my ground

and I won't back down

Chorus
Hey baby, there ain't no easy way out [ I won't back down.]

heyyyy I........

I will stand my ground

and I won't back down

Well I know what's right, I got just one life

in a world that keeps on pushin' me around

but I'll stand my ground and I won't back down

Hey baby

there ain't no easy way out [I won't back down.]

heyyyy I...........

I will stand my ground.

and I won't back down.

No, I won't back down.

PTSD tunez

What kind of music do you listen to when your PTSD kicks in? I love music, as you know, and it's gotten me through a lot of painful moments.

One song I listen to a lot lately is "You're Not Alone" by Saosin.

It's just like him
To wander off in the evergreen park
Slowly searching for any sign
Of the ones he used to love..

He says he's got nothing left to live for
(He says he's got nothing left...)
And this time I think you'll know..

You're not alone
There is more to this, I know
You can make it out
You will live to tell

She's just like him
Spoiled rotten
Confused by the lies she's been fed
And she's searching for no one..
(But herself)
Her eyes turn to green and she seems to be happy
That she is here
And this time I think you'll know...

You're not alone
There is more to this, I know
You can make it out
You will live to tell

You're not alone
There is more to this, I know
You can make it out

(There is more to know)

We're not alone
There is more to this, I know
You can make it out
You will live to tell..
(So tell me)

You're not alone
There is more to this, I know
You can make it out
(Make it out)
You will live to tell
(Live to tell)
You're not alone
There is more to this, I know
(And I know)
You can make it out
You will live to tell..

You are not alone.
You're not, you're not alone.

What songs would you suggest other people suffering should listen to?
