Sufferer 3 years of PTSD

hello john. welcome to the forum.

my own ptsd hasn't gone away and is severe enough that it isn't likely too, but the symptoms are eminently manageable with routine maintenance.

i hope your wish fairy provides better service than mine does. lazy witch ignores me every time i wish for much of anything.

John, My name is Tina. I read "The Body Keeps the Score" by Bessel Van Derkolk and it changed my life and now I can just observe my thoughts, feelings and behaviors instead of getting overwhelmed by them. Bless you.

Hi Tina, thanks will have a look for it, see if it can help me somehow

Welcome @Johnm64! Sadly, it won't go away without therapy BUT you found a great place to get help with living with it day to day....
Yeah therapy OK but opened up dormant incidents which reared there ugly head

those repressed memories are never as dormant as denial would have us to believe. refusing to look at them only gives them more room to work their devilment. if i can't see them, i can't stop them. growing an awareness of that devilment hurts, at first, but ultimately releases you from their subconscious grip.
