I'm sorry but they are kids. You are asking kids to deal with adult issues. They are kids! It's the exact same reason many of my friends saw way more of my trauma then I ever realized and enough to know the sexual parts were happening but never said anything to me, their parents, or any adult...or anyone else for that matter. One of them got in contact with me about 9 yrs ago (and we still talk today) to appologize for not saying anything to anyone. She was a kid. A child. She was scared. There was nothing for her to appolgize for. You cannot blame children for not taking on adult issues and for being scared!
Exactly. Which is why I feel these kids have no business trying to strip others of their rights when there are alternatives. Because the kids don't know what they are doing and they are forced to grow up. Which supports my view of changing the Age of Majority, which is 18, to 21.

I'm not sure there's any way to know that right now. The Republicans are running the show, so I wouldn't expect any more government help with healthcare than there is now, probably less. They are going to tend to think it's government's job to intervene on things like birth control, to make it less accessible, but I don't think they see much of a role for government beyond that.

They have cut taxes, so they've cut the government's income. They just passed a big spending bill that's heavy on military spending. The president keeps replacing people in his administration with people who are more inclined to think of war as a great problem solving tool. Wars are expensive. Odds are we "won't have the money" for domestic spending. I'd say if there's something you need to get done, do it now because things will probably get worse before they get better.

There's another election coming up later this year, that could change a lot.

What do you all think is going to change, if anything, wi

I couldn't guess. I don't really like Obama care as it is. If anything we do need to open the states to compete with each other and make it so its impossible for a state to not have any insurence companies. Obama care is great until you have no health insurence companies in it in your state. Then what?

My therapist and I talk a lot about politics and he has to get his own health insurence since he is a contractor and he says he got it through Florida Hospital (which I had no idea created an insurence company) and he loves it. Its through ObamaCare. It fills in a lot of holes but I also agree it's dying with insurence companies pulling out right and left. That need to be fixed.

Many other things as well. My step mom couldnt get on it as the deductable with Florida Blue was insane and they cover like nothing. It needs to be ObamaCare 2.0. Fix the glaring issues.

I hear these kids complaining about guns being responsible for the school shootings. Really? I mean...

That kid that shot in parkland was recently made an orphan, his younger brother and his brothers friends bullied older brother, his girlfriend had broken up with him and he lost a fight with girlfriends new boyfriend, he had been kicked out of place he lived after becoming an orphan

The kids that are protesting guns from parkland are also social outcasts who are largely gay or unclear sexuality, theater kids, liberal devotees. But they had a place to go to be an outcast, the shooter had none. And the parkland outcaste anti-gun lobbiests sure as hell didn't lend a hand in friendship, to shooter because he was not one of their outcastes who tends towards being gay and very liberal and into news, social media, theater and Al Jazeera

There is a lot wrong with all this. The activist kids are becoming minor celebrities, securing their futures and place in history and personally gaining quite a lot from the shooting. But it's these kids who could have thrown a fellow outcaste a bone and been nice to him and accepting of him, even though he wasn't one of them

Being bullied is not an excuse to gun people down.
Not fitting into a social clique, is not an excuse to gun people down.

There is no excuse for picking up a firearm or any other weapon, going to a public place and start picking people off at random.

Al Jazeera didn't do this, liberals didn't do this, conservatives didn't do this. One f*cked up homicidal lunatic did this.

It's comforting to try and find blame in things and social constructs that we disagree with. But comfort does not mean correct.
The fact is, that we don't really know why people do shit like this.
The other fact is, that we will never figure it out if all we stand in a circle pointing at the people we don't like.

Mass murder existed before Liberal governments, conservatives, social media, firearms (not groups, the actual weapons themselves), Al Jazeera, the concept of negativity towards homosexuality, Christianity, Islam and even Judaism.

So those things can't be the reason this happens. No matter how loudly we stand in place shouting so.

Exactly, @Neverthesame has a problem with intolerance towards people he disagrees with and tolerance towards people he agrees with. Open minds might keep the the hate away

I don't think the world's problems can be blamed on skin colour or religious beliefs.

How that makes me the intolerant one? I don't know and I'm done caring.

Yup. What a terrible person I am for thinking peace, love and acceptance can win the day against war, hate and discrimination.

Folied again, damn!

@Endofwar Can you supply some articles to back up what you are saying?

How do you know he was kicked out of the house he was staying in after he was orphaned? The way I read it, he chose to leave.
How do you know that none of the kids protesting never tried to make friends with him or stick up for him?
How do you know that the protesters were "outcasts"?

Changing age of majority to 21?

Some of us here were brought up in homes we were only to glad to get out of and have autonomy. No thank you. Reaching majority was reaching security (ok, till this year) .
