So I made it through day one of my new job/return to work after 7 1/2 months. It was a pretty boring day and pretty frustrating as I was hired 6 weeks ago and I spent most of the day struggling with my computer before I realized they had not set it up for the network, connected it to the organizations email system and didn't even bother to have office software installed.
Add to that my predecessor doesn't have his last day until August 3rd and needless to say I feel redundant because all the staff are looking to him for direction and even once he retires he will still be living close by. But I made it through and maybe his being there will make the transition easier when I do have the reins full time.
