So I made it through day one of my new job/return to work after 7 1/2 months. It was a pretty boring day and pretty frustrating as I was hired 6 weeks ago and I spent most of the day struggling with my computer before I realized they had not set it up for the network, connected it to the organizations email system and didn't even bother to have office software installed.

Add to that my predecessor doesn't have his last day until August 3rd and needless to say I feel redundant because all the staff are looking to him for direction and even once he retires he will still be living close by. But I made it through and maybe his being there will make the transition easier when I do have the reins full time.

Finished the first week. Friday was tough I must have forgotten to turn on my alarm because I woke up 10 min before I was supposed to be at work and had a miserable migraine. But I had showered the night before and laid out my clothes so I jumped up threw on some makeup and ran out the door. I am actually glad I went in, I was so unhappy at my last job I would have just called in sick but I didn't this time and in spite of the headache I had a good day.
