Same herePersonally I’ll take none of the above. Innocent- certainly not. I don’t even believe I was when it happened, I played a part.
Victim-hate that word, way too much negative wrapped up in that word, says I had no power and I don’t believe that either.
Survivor- I’m with you on that, seems life long, and If it’s going to be life long I’d prefer to shorten this life.
Usually if I’m talking about it, which is not often at all I say I was abused as a kid, leaves it all in the past, which is where I’d like it to be, even if it’s not.
I can see how you might equate victim to innocence, and I do think of kids that way but not me.
But unfortunately the child that was hurt by an adult almost always feels responsible for itIt's hard to blame a child for getting hurt by an adult...
