Has anyone tried or heard of EMDR 2.0? It’s supposed to be good for cptsd and treatment resistant trauma. (My therapist wants to try it with me. She recently attended a training on it).

Never heard of it before, but your therapist is probably the best resource for explaining it since they were trained in it. A google search got me this type of info. It's basically increasing distractions by doing more than eye movements, by adding in extra tasks...

EMDR 2.0 is no different from regular EMDR therapy; only extra aids are used to increase the load on the working memory and thus to increase the effectiveness of the therapy.

The working memory theory is the thesis that has the most scientific support for the effectiveness of EMDR. During the EMDR session, the short-term memory is put to work while the patient has a traumatic memory in his/her sights. By performing the tasks, the attention for the memory weakens. It is then stored again in a milder form in the long-term memory. It is then a logical next step to increase the load on the working memory even more, by not only performing the eye movements, but also having the patient experience other stimuli at the same time. This increases the pressure on the working memory and thus the chance of success of the therapy.

After finding trauma 2 in November while doing a lot of other work, I will say that "more intensive" EMDR would probably have driven the little red choo choo around the bend.
I thought the first one was bad but when I pulled through it we started doing a lot of other work. By November we were doing some really heavy work and then Bingo.

More intense EMDR was not something I would have wanted at that point. More intensive may have caused a psychotic break at that point as I was operating at about 7-8 SUDS on any given day.

Emdr 2.0 is supposed to be for people that have trouble keeping suds down, I think? Normally, we do flash emdr.

So it taxes working memory more and therefore may be more efficient. Apart from that there is really no difference on our part. Emotionality and vividness remain the same.
It looks to me like they are working to overload working memory more effectively with 2.0. Initial tests look like the two are pretty much the same otherwise.

I tried it today in therapy. It seemed okay and like I was having more movement of body sensations than usual. It also kept my brain more occupied for sure. Suds dropped down from a 9 to a 4. (Big drop for me). After therapy, I was in a personal hell. I was home, so wandering around my house and maybe sleeping was relatively safe. Killer headache that I had to take something for. Lost about an hour of time awareness. Once I finally started to find the present it gradually wore off during the day. I feel okay now. Not sure if new waves will come in tomorrow or if I’m at a sort of trauma peace where I can set that one event to the side. It did bring some other stuff up, though. A different part of the trauma. Almost feels like I just leveled up in a video game.

How did the following days of post-session processing go for you?

It got better. However, the following session my t and I talked about the process when I wanted to add resources and such (which isn’t really the emdr 2.0) during my next session. She had me write a letter to myself about my tools and plans to deal with everything. This week, she changed it. She spent the last part going over a template of after care plans for me to focus on. She had me write it down. It is very helpful.
