How Did You Sleep Last Night?

Woke up with a nightmare. I was in a room with a security gate. But l looked up and the door jamb was compromised. Then l noticed two men coming up the stairs to my room/security gate. I debated jumping out the balcony but was afraid l would hurt myself. I went back to the gate, and knew they were approaching. I woke up frightened.

Forgive me if I'm mistaken but I couldn't find anything similar to this listed in the threads.

I thought it would be a really good tool to have. To talk about how you slept last night or any dreams you may have had etc..

Last night my sleep wasn't so interesting but it did strike me. I slept amazingly; I didn't move at all, I woke up in the same position I fell asleep in. Though I cannot remember any dreams. I think my body really needed a rest like that.
I have recurring nightmares every night. Last night it woke me up and I was so terrified I searched my house and locked my bedroom door when I went back to bed. I have had this same nightmare almost every night for several years.

The wise elders and shamans say that if you remember your dream, it was not a dream but a message. Perhaps if you can figure out what the dream is trying to tell you, it will stop or change to a more peaceful state. I used to have a recurring nightmare where I was chased, trapped, and caught like a rabbit.

It was the same every night for years, but I now understand that it was because of the abuse I suffered in childhood and when I dealt with my feelings and thoughts about that abuse things changed for me and the reoccurring nightmares stopped. I hope you can work things out and end these nightmares.

Also, you might want to investigate a medicine called Prazosin that helps with PTSD nightmares. it has worked well for me and you might want to ask your Psychiatrist/doctor about using it to help tame those nasty nightmares. Best of luck,

Lionheart

Thanks! I'll look into it. I know my nightmare is associated with my trauma because it involves my abuser. It'd be great if it would go away.

Not enough as per usual. Intermittently, which makes it feel a lot like not at all. I’m so tired of fighting the sleep battle and nothing seems to work. Going to bed at a set time, waking up at a set time, no breaks, exercise, no caffeine, medications, weed.

I’m also sick of doctors telling me their miracle drug will make me tired. I AM tired. I’ve been tired for years. I can’t remember the last time I got a solid 8, or 7 or 6. Broken 4 is the norm.

Yes! I think one of the reasons I don't have what I consider "bad" dreams (even though they may be quite disturbing) is because I see them all (and I often remember two or three a night) as messages.

I'm not sleeping well without something to help these days. I'm taking over-the-counter meds that also help with pain.

The stupidest and hardest part is - the more you worry about sleep - the less you do it......

Been the same lately - not enough and broken sleep. But like I say - it is what it is and the more I focus on it the more I ruminate and the less I sleep.....and down the rabbit hole I go.....
