New Here
Diagnosed with CPTSD few months ago, but I’ve been in therapy for a couple of years. I recently found this forum reading Pete Walker’s book. I’m in the middle of my healing process and I’ve joined to seek and give support to other survivors. Soo... hello guys! 🌻
P. S. English is not my native language so please forgive my poor speaking 🙏

HI @cyb3rbirdie - welcome to the forum! And thanks for pointing out that English is a second language for you. If you ever think something might be getting lost in translation, please feel free to ask for clarification. If you need help one how to use the forum, you can reach moderators by posting to Contact Us.

I'm glad you're here 🙂

welcome birdie. spanish is my second language and i have studied several others. i find that i can "reframe" quite allot of my trauma more easily in secondary languages than in the language (english) where the trauma occurred. if nothing else, it turns the repetitive thoughts into beneficial practice.

Egli ha detto. . lei disse. . . loro hanno detto. . . Noi abbiamo detto. . . ho detto. . .

may your language practice here be as beneficial. welcome aboard.

Yes, I get it...in fact I'd like to start journaling in english. In italian there are many words that are triggering for me so I feel safer using other languages
