Small things, great victories. What’s yours?

I didn't know there were mods for Stardew Valley! Are they on Steam or Nexus?

They're on Nexus! They're also on the Stardew Valley official forums. I got the Walk-to Desert one working off of the SDV forums.

I got Stardew Valley Expanded, Ridgeside Village,/Soundtrack Immersive Shane, Immersive Elliott, Improved Marnie, Canon Dialogue Expansions, Improved Sprinklers, and you can Google for "best mod lists" and check the dependencies and compatibilities. (The rest of my mods are just framework mods to make those ones work.) You also absolutely need SMAPI before anything else (Stardew Modding API).

So far all of my mods seem to be working together. I did try to get East Scarp, but that doesn't seem to have loaded in any way.
SDE/RS/ES are all expansion/immersion mods that greatly expand the map, add new NPCs and new quests and new items and stuff. I also got Automate which lets you run machines in the background so you aren't constantly running back and forth. Helpful to make my coffee with 10,000 coffee beans!

I am the kind of guy that if I like a game I'll buy it on every console so now I have 3 copies of SDV lmao. It was deffo worth it on PC though. The mods make it fun as f*ck and I feel better about cheating because I had just finished the vanilla game on Switch. Finding games that don't trigger me and that don't have violent content and that I enjoy playing is definitely a "victory" for me.

@Weemie What is nexus?
I enjoyed stardew valley on my ipad, but enjoyed mods for pc games in the past and think I'd enjoy stardew valley modded too.

Edit to add, am sliding fast on a downward spiral.

Did a positive thing, eating something healthy

So to get into modding it's actually really easy. Download the game you'd like on Steam (so let's say Stardew Valley) and then head over to Vortex Mod Manager and install the Vortex mod manager for Nexus. Get it all up and running then head to SMAPI - Stardew Modding API to install your first mod. This is the mod that all other Stardew mods are built off of so it's a requirement.

You'll be running Vortex at the same time, as soon as you hit "slow download" navigate to Vortex in the toolbar. You'll see it say "downloading" in a green bar, then "Install" and then hit "Enable." You may need to pause and resume downloads that are very big as it sometimes gets stuck. Head to your Stardew Valley folder in the Steam app (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley) and make sure that there is now a \Mods folder created where your SMAPI should now be.

Hope this all makes sense and there are other more concise/clear modding guides out there. You can also manually download mods, and unzip them directly into the \Stardew Valley\Mods folder, and they will still work as intended when you run it through SMAPI.

In order to get achievements in Stardew Valley you need to configure the Steam loader to launch through SMAPI when you hit the green "Play Game" button. All you have to do is right click the game in the left Games toolbar, hit "properties" then navigate to "Launch Options" on the very first page. Copy and paste this EXACTLY with the quotations: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley\StardewModdingAPI.exe" %command%

And there you have it!

Had a friend hang out with my boyfriend's friends, like a normal young person! We stayed in, played magic the gathering for a few hours, and I got the details on this Dnd campaign that I may be participating in. This is the second time I've done something like this with them, probably the second time total that I've hung out with "new" people (people I've known for less than a year) in the past two or three years. It's been weird spending time with people again. I don't think as much about being different as I used to. I'm getting to the point where I can speak without being too afraid that I'll get hurt for it. I'm excited thinking about the happier, healthier, and more successful version of myself that I am becoming

I had a 40th birthday sober and dramafree. Now I am updating my resume to start applying for a new opportunity.
And I keep going further on my healing journey with all its ups and downs. Also looking into finishing my bachelor's degree in 2023. Looking forward to the new challenges!
