I was at store manager for AT&T and had to deal with a unruly customer. Had to ask him to be removed from my store . He returned twice the following days and was removed by mall management because he would leave my store. The following day a family member of his called my store and ask to speak to me and she told me to take the information seriously that this guy told his brother he was packing a gun and headed to the mall to right who did him wrong and said it was the blonde manager at AT&T (which is me) . I called my company asset protection and we shut the store down also called the local Police and they came and got the details and proceeeded to look for him. They didn’t locate him that night so we made the decision to close the store the next day also. He showed up at the mall and the mall management was on lookout for him and saw him and called the police which came and arrested him and had him taken to Bridgeton mental hospital where he was admitted. It’s a long story but I have been out of work , I got short term disability until June and was approved for long term disability thru 3/23 but now my employer is going to medically separate me from company and I won’t have medical insurance to get my treatment for ptsd for which I was diagnosed. Just looking for a safe space to express my feelings.

Wow! I’m so sorry this is happening to you! What a scare! You have found a safe place for sure. I’ve been a member 10+ years and it has been a great resource for information, validation, compassion, and understanding!

I don’t know what “medically separate” means…is it that they are letting you go because of the problems you have? I know that in the US, that’s a slippery slope for an employer to take. It happened due to you being at your place of employment. Can you get advice from an attorney?

I hope your situation gets better soon!
Blessings of peace, endurance, and courage are sent up for you!

Thank you for your kind, comforting words. I went out on disability short term for 6 months, then it became long term disability and at that point my employer did not have to hold my position so they retired me. I was with them for 24 years :(

If you are in the States, please call and/or apply online for disability…you won’t get it right off but if you aren’t able to find employment due to your medical situation, the first date you contact SSD is important later on.

(I was out from work 3 times for short-term disability after my daughter died, and those times I was on short-term counted towards my eventual permanent medical disability.)

You don’t say how old you are, but you can’t contact SSD too early.

Best of blessings!

Welcome to the forum - I hope this is a helpful place for your recovery.

In terms of 'safe spaces', it's worth taking a look at the Community Constitution , because it will give you a good idea of how this particular community ticks. It's not all going to necessarily feel 'safe'.

If there's days that you need the human connection without the distress, the Social Forum is the most chill place here:)
