My "I Might Get into Trouble"fear

I tend to ask myself now, 'is it reasonable?" "Is it sensible?" which seems to work as I have never been sure if what I thought was those things. I guess that is the same as asking what my adult self would think.

My "I Might Get into Trouble"fear

I think I am at a similar state to you. 68 and still trying to be a good girl. When I do test the waters and it works out, I tend to have the first thought of "shit, I got away with that". As though it was something naughty and not a human right. Funnily it applies to the way I dress as well. I...

My "I Might Get into Trouble"fear

I have C-PTSD. A major block in my coping mechanism of dealing with life is the fear that I will get into trouble. I do not stand up for myself with authority figures. I am sensible when in conversation with them (doctors etc) but do not fight for my viewpoint at the time because of this fear...

Sufferer Hi! Turning 19 this month with PTSD, Autism, Depression, Insomnia, Selective Eating Disorder, GAD & being evaluated for ADHD.

If it's of any usefulness to you, my husband has Asperger's which we only realised last year. We also suspect he has ADHD. After much research he started on Effexor for the anxiety. He no longer breaks out in a cold sweat if he is nervous. Just recently he asked to start on BUPROPRION (ZYBAN)...

    Pristiq issue

The only reason they say not to cut them in Half is because it has a slow release coating. When I taper down off any slow release medication, I cut them in half and then dip the cut side in beeswax. This means that the slow release coating still works on the uncut side. I have done this when I...

Madness, Insanity & The World Wide Web

It's fking madness. What next? Waterboarding? Have you got a punching bag? May I politely suggest you punch it and say every filthy word, phrase and suggestion you can conjure up. Even if it's at nobody you can name. Even 'shit, bum, bollocks, cnt". Make it so bad that you either laugh or...

    Effexor, fantastic and fears

I totally missed this post and had been wanting to know what your dosage is. How do I tag Threads so I am alerted when there is a new post on there or a post from someone I am following? I have hit "follow" with you Sideline but I done have a clue what that means as far as alerts go. Any...

Nausea when triggered or anxious - also, anti-anxiety device blocking vagus nerve signals

I dunno. But, for now I feel safer walking through the world diagnosing others. So, I ain't going to stop. You know how it is. 😅

Nausea when triggered or anxious - also, anti-anxiety device blocking vagus nerve signals

I caved in today and took a Nexium which helped a lot, but will try the ginger juice and some other sources like glazed ginger. Then practise the burping technique my husband was so proud to display for me. He proudly announced he does it every day early afternoon to settle his stomach. Not that...

Nausea when triggered or anxious - also, anti-anxiety device blocking vagus nerve signals

I'm Australian too. I have not heard that Pristiq makes my nausea worse. Actually if I up my dose for a day or two the nausea goes away, but my doc says not to do that as I am on 200mg. It's the only one that works for me with panic attacks and Fibromyalgia pain.

Nausea when triggered or anxious - also, anti-anxiety device blocking vagus nerve signals

People with personality disorders. Eg: Narcissists or Borderlines. I seem to attract women with Borderline Personality who want to be my friend. My trauma was caused by my mother with Narcissistic Personality Disorder and there are a number of females in my family with Borderline Personality...

Nausea when triggered or anxious - also, anti-anxiety device blocking vagus nerve signals

You know what. I am the same. But, fart, the last few years I fart like an old woman nonstop at night. It is getting so bad I am scared I will forget when I am in public and just let 'er rip. Since I didn't want to do the screaming any more to make me burp, I gurgle in my throat. I remembered...

Nausea when triggered or anxious - also, anti-anxiety device blocking vagus nerve signals

I had no idea that other PTSD folks had gastro-intestinal problems. Duh me! Did your GP manage the decision of what to give you or did you have to be referred to a Specialist to see what was causing the stomach problems. The Odansetron is not on the NHS and probably costs an arm and a leg. I...

Nausea when triggered or anxious - also, anti-anxiety device blocking vagus nerve signals

Excellent practical thinking and advice. Thank you so much. I will do some practice tonight. If I struggle to achieve it, I will get a guy to help me learn the technique. Do you like Odansetron or are you being sarcastic about it being lovely stuff? Can you tell me about how /when/how often...

Nausea when triggered or anxious - also, anti-anxiety device blocking vagus nerve signals

https://www.reliefband.com/collections/Reliefband is said to block the signals between the brain and the stomach through the Vagus nerve. It can be used for motion sickness and also for anxiety. Apparently, if it is unsuccessful in reducing nausea from anxiety after 30 days they will refund...

Nausea when triggered or anxious - also, anti-anxiety device blocking vagus nerve signals

I have always had nausea when distressed but it has become worse recently. I will speak to my doctor about it today and spoke to my pharmacist recently. I asked about an anti-nausea drug called Odansetron. She said that is a reasonable way to go or my doctor might suggest I put my...

    Effexor, fantastic and fears

Sideways, may I ask what dosage is your small baseline dose? I have been on Pristiq since I developed PTSD 15 years ago, after years of depression and anxiety. ( I see my other posts on Pristiq say 8 years. I dont have the brain space to work out ho long its been. You understand.) My baseline...

Fibro The fun filled world of fibro

I have had Fibromyalgia for over 12 years. Initially I would have to crawl up the stairs on my hands and knees. The pain felt like shards of glass in my muscles. Since starting on PRISTIQ (Desvenlafaxine), which is slow release, 8 years ago, the pain went away. I take 100mg AM. Two 50mg...

    No Dreams. Looking For Explanation.

If it is challenging try writing "key words" . The important words only. To trigger your memory. If it is too challenging to write when you think of it keep a pen down your bra (assuming you are a girl) and write a thought on your arm to transfer to your scrapbook later. I also keep a piece of...

Two Weeks On Bupropion (zyban/u.s. Wellbutrin) Plus Pristiq

The stomach problems are there for me too, not every day though. I think it could be that the motility of the gut in improved. I carry antacids with me or Diet Coke and once I burp my stomach settles. This did go away last time I was on it for a length of time, so it may again.

    No Dreams. Looking For Explanation.

Having a scrapbook gives me a sense of control because it means to me that I am gathering my own form of 'treatment". It is also a valuable resource to take along to a doctor for reference and it frees your brainspace up and stops you worrying about forgetting. Try it.

    No Dreams. Looking For Explanation.

@Chimera Maybe keep a scrapbook of snippets you feel fit with you. For future reference. Buproprion is used as a Dopamine enhancer. Dopamine works on motivation. Did you ever see the movie Awakenings? It was a true story about a doctor called Dr Oliver Sacks who used a Dopamine replacement...

Two Weeks On Bupropion (zyban/u.s. Wellbutrin) Plus Pristiq

HI @TXbandit Yes, I am still on it. I have stablised again at 150mg AM and 100mg AM of Pristiq. This appears to be the perfect dose for me. I am sensitive to meds and seem to only ever need low doses. I started with nausea early on and it has changed the motility of my lower intestine but in a...

    No Dreams. Looking For Explanation.

I have not dreamed in my adult life. Now in my sixties. ( I know they say we do not remember them). I started dreaming when I went onto Buproprion (zyban) I am taking it for depression not for stopping smoking. It works well to motivate me. It also works on motivation, cutting carb cravings and...

    Should I Date A Psycho?

A person who displays the traits of Narcissistic Personality Disorder on the extreme end of the spectrum is what is offically labeled a Psychopath. This is recognised world-wide and is very different from the psychological trauma/damage that is evident in a lot of people including us with PTS...
