Hi everyone, I have a share and a question. A year ago I was diagnosed diabetic, no dramas just live it. But what is starting to show is a pattern of even Minor blood glucose anomaly affecting my anxiety and PTSD ( mainly desensitising ).
Has anyone else heard of this before ?
Thank you for sharing your beautiful story, we have a Beagle who is literally my beautiful canine brother, he listens to nobody but me
My dog is my wingman, our time together when we are alone walking through fields and woods is therapeutic, he senses my mood way before I do. Most of all, he...
Hi Richie,
I have disclosed on interview, always do. It's not something I have always done, but if I'm spending time with people, then they need to know all my colours. I use the other example ( personal one ), I am also diabetic, and disclose as well.
It's not a badge, merely aspects of who...
You know, I've got Jack Garrett in my ears, a cohiba No. 5, and a new bottle of Glenfiddich, plus Charlie ( my Beagle ), absolute bliss.
I'm on a purge trying to finish my book....
Firstly, most importantly, Happy New Year everyone, may 2017 be full of Health, wealth, and prosperity !.
Okay, fireworks, and New Year's Eve, for me, I use my Bose headphones and ensure the curtains are drawn.
Not an easy night for me if I'm honest
All I can do here is say your a hero. Partners / supporters of us with PTSD are truly special. My wife is my lighthouse, she is my hero, twice as brave and three times as intelligent .
Hi Pixel,
Sounds dodgy to me......
However, my far too clever daughter is at Uni studying military psychology, and last month walked me through the biological changes / trauma that the brain receives from the initial environment stimuli. A study of PTSD confirmed individuals showed via MRI...
In my years of not confronting PTSD, I was selfish, and self destructive, I drank, fought, and hedonistically lived. What I didn't do was admit it, don't ask me why, I still can't answer that one. Today my wife still doesn't know the full extent of my turmoil, I live with that guilt. But if I'm...
For me, PTSD is now a clear family member, sometimes totally misunderstood, sometimes empathized with. PTSD's worst element for me was loss of perspective. I'm really level headed, but when bad can over think now.
It's a long time ago when my true trigger occurred overseas, but if I'm honest...
It's a tough thread this, as I agree there's some stigma there in society on non combat PTSD. PTSD is PTSD, it's only the trigger that's different, we all know that. It's 18 years since my mirror broke inside, but I still require self discipline, tons of self awareness, and planning to manage...
I developed PTSD whilst married, through combat operational exposure. At the time, I was a civilian in a war zone. I returned home and initially spoke about what I'd witnessed ( a few weeks ), then just "broke". I've spoke to many veterans, many families living with veterans who have PTSD. It's...
Paddy it took me 10 years to reach out, after scarring my kids emotionally without realizing. Most GP's haven't got a clue. I tried psychotherapy initially, was told I'm a colour - red !!, being a liverpool fc fan I almost fell over laughing. Then I buried it, and to be honest - my cooing &...
