Does anyone ever get so caught up in your thoughts that 10+ minutes later you just realize you're been out of it, arguing with your thoughts and feelings and then also realized you are way more anxious or even panicking?

I do this often and my mom says this is disassociation. I will have a thought of self hate, self blame, a trigger, anxiety, OCD, PTSD symptoms and then just go on and on pretty much just arguing with myself and end up becoming extremely emotional, though finally able to at least recognize that I'm stuck in the rambles again. Even if I catch myself before 10 minutes I am usually upset and anxious.

Has anyone experienced this and/or know how to deal with it?

This happens to me, although I don't suffer from anxiety afterward. I assumed this was a symptom of my adhd.
