This is a PTSD forum.
If you have been recently sexually assaulted, or are unsure if what you experienced constitutes 'rape', please note: our focus is on individuals who have developed PTSD from trauma.
This does not mean that survivors of sexual assault are not welcome.
It does mean, however, that you may want to go to a site dedicated to survivors of sexual assault. You may find more useful, detailed information there.
Also: Rape and assault laws vary across regions, and we are a global forum. We cannot tell you whether you were raped, or not. We can offer advice, insight, and our own experiences.
Here are some sites dedicated to rape and sexual assault support, regardless of whether PTSD is present or not. This isn't an exhaustive list, merely some places to start.
In the U.S.:
RAINN | The nation's largest anti-sexual violence organization
(Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network)
Pandora's Project
(Pandoras Project, support for sexual assault and abuse)
In the U.K.:
www.thesurvivorstrust.org
(Survivors Trust)
Rape Crisis England and Wales
(Rape Crisis England and Wales)
In Canada:
Find Help Across Canada - Ending Violence Association of Canada
(Ending Violence Canada)
