Has anyone had constant head pressure? Like your head is going to explode? I've had this for a couple years now. I am going to a Neurologist now and he says it will take a long time that my blood vessels in my head are inflamed. I am on several medications, which has helped, but I still feel the pressure daily, but not as intense now.

I was just wondering if anyone else has had this and what you are doing for / about it. It also makes me feel faint (sometimes).

    Any ideas or help ?

Yes the constant head pressure of PTSD patients has been studied. The proof of brain hyper activity obtained with MRI in London Ontario documents it. ... Yes it's something I've lived with for years , just another symptom to add to all the rest ... sorry to say ... So I just accept it and I'm trying to get better with an all encompassing approach towards the illness ... Hope this helps .... Rob

Hi Marissa, welcome to the forum. Yes, I used to feel that very much actually when my anxiety was out of control. I thought all sorts of bad things that could be going on, all the time making it worse, when in fact it was merely the sheer anxiety and stress my body was under. As I healed my trauma, I had no more issues with this feeling. Even now, if I get highly stressed, that feeling most certainly does come back, but I generally only get it maybe once or twice a year, and that is a telltail sign that something is wrong in my life, something I am missing and must deal with. Once I do, it goes away.

welcome to the forum, marissa. i had no idea that the pressure was another ptsd thing. sometimes i feel faint, too, but i usually just stand still for a few sec's and it passes. i notice a lot of the time that the back of my head feels "funny". i thought maybe all of it was some kind of side effect from the med.

I worried myself for a long time thinking I could have a brain tumour, and when I discussed it with trusted doctors, and they told me the symptoms are similar, but there are a few differences, I stopped making myself so anxious about it. Amazing how knowledge helps treat anxiety ha? It is stress and anxiety. If it was a brain tumour, you would actually collapse and pass out frequently.

So could the stress and pressure be the cause of the constant ringing in my ears? It seems that they have been ringing forever and the quieter my surroundings get the louder the ringing.

Huh, this is interesting.. LOL I was told the constant pain/pressure is just due to my migraines.. in fact it was suggested to me that I had a "life long" migraine.. LOL interesting thread...

Well, the head pressure, what can I say? Nice to know I don't have at least this symptom, because this one I am clueless on. Just hope y'all find some relief.

I actually do get breaks from it.. I truly think it's more from me clenching my teeth than anything.. that's enough pressure to snap my teeth. only stands that it would create "pressure" in my head from it.

maybe that's it, bec. i clench my teeth at night, and a lot of times during the day, i find myself with my jaw and teeth tightly clenched, for no reason. makes the dentist have a little spending money, though.
