Denial by society

I have done work on cognitive distortions . Today I met and spoke briefly with a homeless transgender person. She cannot get or even apply for federal assistance for housing until she has been homeless for 7 more months. Unable to stay at shelters due to being targeted. The system is rigged for failure. I no longer believe homeless is a choice or for that matter any person who says '" that was your choice" Was it my choice to be seizure free over 8 years after my craniotomy? Well I did hard work and compliance with health care providers. Much research too. My current neurologist thinks my brain may have healed from this. This occuring is in the medical literature. I am disturbed this evening by many things including blame willful ignorance etc. My paternal grandfather died from epilepsy and other comorbities. So.msny people told me what happened to me was " my fault" How will any of us heal from trauma with all this pychopathology going on?

IMO/IME... Because fault & blame (& acceptance & lauded) has nothing to do with it.

It doesn’t matter whether other people view you as a hero, or villain. Or whether we ourselves view ourselves as heroes or villains. All fault & blame does? Is create/destroy allegiance. Not treat trauma. Don’t get me wrong, allegiance can be useful as f*ck. Blissful, even. But that also doesn’t treat trauma.”Just” life. And people with PTSD? Can f*ck up both amazing fully supported and SHAZAAM lives, just as easily as they f*ck up mediocre and tumbleweed rolls through crickets lives.

I agree 100%. My knowledge of this has helped me to get out of the system; build my life back up. And keep the f*ck away from anyone who subscribes in any way, shape or form to the 'system'. I have made my own system. It saved my life and helped me bale things back together again. New knowledge can be a good thing. It can be empowering and freeing. No need to dwell. Just collect information and resources and work towards your goal.

Yes. Sounds like you learned to make your own system as well. You know who you are. You know what is best for you. And you chose to deal. Well done and congratulations.
