Hi everyone. for those of you who don't remember my post from about a month ago, my boyfriend Mark is a Marine and served in Iraq. For a long time, he wouldn't talk about his issues, and refused to seek help from a professional. A lot has happened since then, he is now seeing a therapist who specializes in ptsd, and is going to sessions twice a week:smile:. A week ago, I got a call from his therapist and we had a discussion about me attending a session with Mark this wednesday. I'm slightly apprehensive about what this is going to be like, and what we will discuss when I go. Maybe those of you who have had a similar experience can tell me what to expect? I'm relieved that he finally took the first step towards treatment, and lately, he has been clueing me in to how he feels more often. I'm a bit more familiar with his cycle, and how he feels throughout the day, which is a huge help to both of us. I know that things won't get better right away, and that therapy can sometimes make people feel worse before they start to get better, as they are reminded more and more of their trauma. Still, I'm much more hopeful now than I have been in the past few months.
