Had Another Bad Night

I've been through counselling and I take meds, which I don't like to do and ordinarily I am a positive person; well I Try to be. I can have problems in the day too but night times! My partner had been away visiting family so I was so looking forward to seeing him yesterday. I went to bed first then I woke up screaming in true terror. Thank God he is so understanding and I feel blessed (with been together for seven years) but when you have a flashback; that feeling can stay with you the next day and I don't want it at all! Any one else got any ideas, how to deal?

Find your calming center, your distractions until your mind eases... Movies, music, books, nature.... Whatever makes you feel safe and brings your mind and memories away from the worst of it. I start by cranking up the heat on my shower and trying to singe the memories away... but that may not be recommended...

Hope today's a better day for you and you found some real rest.
