I Let My Therapist Go & Asked To Switch To A New One

Maybe this doesn’t seem like much but it’s an accomplishment for me.

I called and canceled my appointment and asked to be switched to someone else in the office.

I asked to be switched to someone who helps with OCD/obsessive type symptoms.

I was told that I should hear back from them in about a week.

People have been advising me to switch for awhile now, and I’m glad I finally did it.

I’m my last session my therapist said something condescending about my family and when I said “no, that’s not true” she simply doubled down instead of apologizing. If it was just that, I’d move past it, but coupled with everything else I knew it was time to let go. I was at the point of canceling every week so it was time to find someone new.

Edit. Oh and she said something racist too and I just thought “I just can’t….”
