A member of the cohort 18, Townsville PTSD course, has a brilliant idea, that needs help getting off the ground. A PTSD anonymous course, something similar to alcoholics anonymous, etc etc, but for those with PTSD who are to ashamed for whatever reason to seek help publicly, or through dedicated counselling services, instead just group therapy to chat. The plan is to have a expert in PTSD visit every now and then to give professional advice to the group, but mainly just chat about your problems and get things out in the air.

Trust me on this, it does really help to get the secrets out, so there no longer secrets. The weight just lifts of your shoulders immediately.

You can contact Alex Barber for more information. If you have the resources, or have had the same thought yourself, contact Alex and see how it goes. After all, this is exactly how all the other services derived, a few veterans getting together to form a group to help one another... ie. Vietnam Veterans Services, and that being recognised as a quality idea, and thus gaining funding to expand throughout Australia.
