    A little to think about...

Some off these may make you think... that is good!

I'm writing those above quotes down... they really catch the PTSD negative thought pattern well! Below I'm adding some quotes that gave me the boost I needed when I was depressed.

There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.
    - William Shakespeare

When you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on.
    - Franklin D. Roosevelt

    Never, never, never give up.
    - Winston Churchill

    (my favorite one)
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.
    - Leo Buscaglia

I'm not normally a quotey type person... but all of these quotes (and the ones above) just need to be shared.

I have one that touches my heart: "stressed" is just "desserts" spelled backwards. I love that one. A very good friend of mine sent me a little wooden sign with it on. It hangs on my wall and makes me smile when I see it. It also reminds me that a little humour can go a long way.

    I heard this one many years ago, it sticks with me still;

"Time heals even the scars of the soul; and perhaps, in time one can remember the beauty and forget the pain"

i have it written down somewhere, its a interesting line, useful to remember on a bad night, goes along the lines of,
the darkest time is before dawn, night brings with it the bitterest poisons which build up to a crescendo til they dispel with the coming of dawn and the rising of the sun, remember even in the darkest nights that the sun will still rise and the shadows of the night will dispel like the mists of the morning under the gaze of the sun. bringing with it the light of day and the quiet of dawn. live not in the time of night but in the time of dawn where the light rises and even the deepest shadows dispel.

its not religous or particularly memorable but remember that the sun rises and the shadows are dispelled even if it is only for a day, but sometimes in the night it is worth remembering.

The world is a tragedy to those who feel, and a comedy to those who think.
Horace Walpole (? I think that's who said it)

Although the world is full of suffering, it is full also of the overcoming of it. Helen Keller (or was it Ann Sullivan?)

I have combined a previous thread in regard to quotations of thought into the one, and moved it here from its previous forum.
