I was wondering if I could get some info on inpatient facilities. My Ed is looking into it because he's in a really bad place and he knows he needs more help than he's getting. He mentioned a place that requires you to stay 18 months, he said you can't leave? Sounds like prison to me. He also said they would require him to give up his weapons and gun permits.
Personally I'd be very happy if he had to give those up. The statistics on suicidal men with guns are not good. But he's suggesting that he's not sure he wants to do that.
I guess I'm asking if there are other options and options that don't require such a long stay. I'm so afraid that he's really in the edge. I completely get the hospital requirements but what good does it do if it stops him from getting treated?
