Udemy Courses

Do employers like or even accept/acknowledge Udemy? They have some classes that I’m tempted to take. I like the budget friendliness and being able to pause or accelerate when I need to. But I don’t know if I should only focus on “fun” classes that would be just for me. Or if I took some of the hotel management classes along with the experience I’m getting- would that make me desirable for a promotion/get a higher paying hotel job somewhere else?

I had to google them… as they’re completely unaccredited? I would think that would be like listing books you read on hospitality in your resume. IE Really not done. But??? Still possibly useful to you.

Most of the people I know with hotel/hospitality degrees got them from Cornell Hospitality - eCornell And many of the better hotels, as well as several tourism boards, either flat out pay the tuition in addition to your salary, as part of their manangent training program, or subsidize to varying degrees. So it’s very much worth looking around to see who would pay you to go.

I've taken a few. I've added to both my job skills and my own personal growth, which is the primary benefit I got out of it. Pretty sure an employer would not pay for them (or look particularly favorably on the name), but I do list them on my CV as continuing ed without the program name.
