I've spent much of my adult life in public safety. I started out as a firefighter at age 19 and then went over to law enforcement. I worked as a patrol officer for a while then became a detective who specialized in arson. This past summer I was diagnosed with Degenerative Disc Disease. I was forced to turn in my badge and gun on my 35th birthday due to the fact that I could no longer physically do the job. Luckily I had been teaching as an adjunct history instructor at a community college since 2004 and so I am doing that now. I've suffered from PTSD for a long time, but it REALLY got bad after I "retired". Luckily I am married to a beautiful redhead who helps me fight my demons.
