I'm a trauma survivor from long-term complex, childhood trauma, and in recovery from substance use disorder. I've been in recovery and working through my trauma healing for 10+ years now, and just now beginning to catch glimpses of the real person I lost when the childhood trauma began, which was at the outset of my critical developmental years. I'm currently working on my masters degree in human services, focusing on leadership and organizational management. I share about my educational successes and resilience for those that need a little hope; hope their life can be better, can improve, and that it is possible to overcome the ravages of trauma and PTSD. We all hold equal value, none is better than another, we all matter, whether it's believed or not. I do my best to be a part of the solution instead of the problem, which means I'm proactively looking for opportunities to show kindness wherever I go and with whomever I choose to interreact.
My thoughts: Resilience isn't found in a neat box, but comes in all shapes and sizes, at least from my perspective.
