I am a survivor of childhood violence and sexual abuse- brother , 5 years older . I was left alone with him as my parents were working . The violence happened all my life and my parents didn't stop it . Then all of sudden he got 'nice 'to me and that's when . the sexual abuse happened . I was 11 so I didn't know what sex was . Of course I blamed myself and have a lot of shame .
It just hit me about 11/2 years ago after a couple of events : went blind in one eye , got T-boned in a parking lot and assaulted by driver , and adverse drug reaction . So I have complex ptsd with acute ptsd . Getting much better but not completely cured .
