Weak Immune System, More Susceptible To Viruses

I know that any stress weakens the immune system and ptsd is the mother of all stress. I am currently fighting a cold (cough, sore throat, achy body) and I had this less than two months ago. In fact, ever since the trauma, I have gotten sick more frequently...I also get severe ice pick headaches...

    Debilitating Fatigue...downright Exhaustion...

Interesting point. I have not had any nightmares as of late, but mentally I am SICK of fighting...I have severe psychosomatic pains that derive from the years of trauma.

    Debilitating Fatigue...downright Exhaustion...

Thank you for the reply! College was extremely stressful on top of the PTSD, so after I finished my associates this past year, I took time off. Wishing you the best of luck on your journey!

    Debilitating Fatigue...downright Exhaustion...

Hi all! My fatigue seems to come in cycles...every few months I get severe bouts of fatigue no matter how much I rest (sleeping 9 hours) and eat. I've been struggling with it these past few days again. From sunup till sundown, I am drained; everything feels like an impossible feat. Does anyone...

    I Am Healing!!

Hello! I have not written a post in quite some time, but much has happened. First off, I deferred the transition to a university across the US - they have gladly agreed to hold my scholarship - until Spring semester. During this time, I am working with my therapist, allowing myself to breathe...

    Other Eczema?

No, I have not. No new creams or anything either...

    Other Eczema?

Breaking out all of a sudden in some sort of rash - first time in my life. The itch is horrible, gracing both arms and both legs. Is this due to stress? I have changed nothing in my diet either. My dermatologist thinks it may be eczema, but he is uncertain. Unsure what to do. Going to pick up...

    Inability To Hold Pee

Since the physical and sexual trauma, I am unable to hold my pee. Try as I might, the muscles seem not to work or my brain does not connect with them...my T says it is most definitely due to the trauma, but it's so frustrating. I cannot go anywhere that is not within some distance of a bathroom...

    Neurontin (gabapentin)

So, my GP prescribed it to me today (for pain), but my T is not wanting me to take any medications. I HATE medications. I have not taken it yet. What are your experiences with this drug? Does it worsen symptoms? Anxiety, fatigue? Weight gain?

    Hypnosis

I am not yet ready, but my T is in no way pressuring me to do it. It is just out there for me to consider and pray about.

    Hypnosis

I suppose it depends on the individual.

    Hypnosis

So my T suggested hypnosis in therapy yesterday. What are your experiences?

    Walking Is The Best Therapy

Hiking is a family thing at our house! We always go on hikes! I love them!

    Walking Is The Best Therapy

Does anyone else love walking as much as I do? Something about the rhythm of the movement, the freedom, the breeze on your face, the birds in the air - utter serenity. I go for multiple walks during the day, since sitting still for long periods of time is extremely difficult, and staying indoors...
