I am 56. Trauma occurred in childhood. Decades in therapy without recognition of PTSD (I looked too good, sounded too good, had all the "advantages" upper middle class upbringing offered so nothing could be wrong. Right? Ha!) though from early on read everything I could on it even tho initially the term was only applied to returning vets. I identified even in my 20's which was thirty years ago. Finally diagnosed a few years ago. So happy to have found this forum. I may have only begun to feel again and feel alive these last couple years but I don't care - I am so happy to be out of the prison of numb despair and disassociation and isolation and self medicating.
