I'm 34 years-old and have been living with PTSD for over 20 years. A victim of sexual abuse since age 5, at 18 I was abducted and sexually trafficked for two years.
My mind has blocked out those two years and I want them back.
After losing myself in guilt, shame and drugs, I started researching PTSD as a way to help myself understand what it is, why it happens to some and not to others and any treatments available.
I may never be "cured" but the day I give up trying to recover is the day the people who did this to me win.
