Natural Disaster Over a million acres burned

It's raining! Not enough to put fires out but it should slow them down and help keep new ones from starting. People may even be able to breathe again.

How does a laser control how you look at other people?

What do you think ? do murderers feel bad about what they’ve done?

I suspect most do. Most murders are not the meticulously planned affairs you see on TV. Much of the time it's just drunk angry idiots behind the bar or outraged spouses whose emotions clouded their judgment.

Natural Disaster Over a million acres burned

On my little island, the fire hazard has been so high that basically, all activity that might cause a fire has ceased: no heavy machinery, no pressure washers, no lawnmowers, no parking cars on the grass. If it might make a spark you can't do it.

If you haven't listened to this podcast I suggest you should. Especially episode two. If your supporters don't understand you I suggest they do too. It also more or less explains where I've been the last couple of months...

Military Combat ptsd site merger (check in)

I'm late to the show but I'm checking in. Apparently, a lot has changed in the past couple of months. I'll try to catch up. Till then be warned that I have no idea what has happened on the site since June.

News Why don't psychiatrists look at the brain?

OK let me restate things a little. The psychiatrist in the vid uses brain imaging. He gets results. I've been asked numerous times if I have had a TBI. I don't know. I've had concussions. I've been caught in bomb blasts that left me with tinnitus. But I just have no way of knowing if I have a...

Bum Wiping & Wet One's Aka Moist Towelette's

@lostforgottensoul those things are actually great. I used them a lot overseas. If you ever travel where toilet facilities are non-existent or just under equipped they are a real moral booster.

News Why don't psychiatrists look at the brain?

Bah! It's good enough to start looking. If we wait till it's good enough we'll never get there. Scan my brain dammit! Hell, stick wires in it if that will help. Photography didn't really progress until people wanted to take them. Maybe it's time psychiatrists started demanding brain imaging...

News Why don't psychiatrists look at the brain?

So why don't psychiatrists actually look at the brain. Other doctors look at x-rays, sonograms, CAT scans, etc. Why not shrinks? https://youtu.be/esPRsT-lmw8

    Avoiding certain areas

I don't think PTSD has anything to do with your fears. You already pointed out that the apartment is in a bad area of town and there is no close parking. Both are less than ideal. Keep looking for a better place. Trust your instincts.

    Ptsd.. noises in head

@Scott88 could it be tinnitus? I've linked a video that shows the different sounds ppl with tinnitus can hear. I only ever hear the first sound. I didn't know about the others.

@Cj a wild pet bird? What type of bird?

Sufferer Newly diagnosed. 17 years of physical abuse.

I really get that. I suspect many others here do too. My current tactic is to try to accept that sometimes good things happen and that they don't always come with a catch. If it works I'll let you know ;)

    Nothing puts me to sleep

I strongly support @JadesJewel 's suggestion of Melatonin, L-Theanine and Magnesium. As far as waking up in the middle of the night goes I just learned to accept that. The whole 8 hours of sleep idea is relatively new. For a long time, before electric lights, people would sleep twice a night...

    Counting pills...

We support you @whiteraven. It's the depression and apathy we don't support. Yes, it's not fair that people who try to do the right thing often go unrewarded. I'm certainly not in the place I hoped to be at this point in my life. There are many other people in this forum who are in similar...

    Nothing puts me to sleep

That really sucks. Mirtazapine is the one thing that has worked well for me. Most meds show diminishing returns over time. Has anything else in your life changed about the same time as the meds stopped working?

    Counting pills...

What do you do that is not worth anything? Is there anything you could do that would be worth something?
  25. D

    Counting pills...

Ummm no. You are only doing 'not so much of anything' if that's what you choose to be doing. Depression lies.
