Understand AI use at MyPTSD: all AI use is explained in our AI help page. AI use is by choice here. It exists if you want it, but does nothing unless you choose to use it.
Anthony is correct, it is our choice. It's also our desire. I was where you are, four years ago. I made really hard choices in order to start healing. At first all I had was the forum when I moved to where I am now. Slowly I built up more supports here (I had to move to recieve proper health...
I am authentic I guess you could say. My "mother" loves make up and thinks women are not women without it. I think I'm beautiful as is. To me, make up is just another mask people use. I don't need to enhance or change how I look for myself or others. I am what I am and that's more than enough...
Becvan is two parts of my name (bec of course being my first name) so it's easy to remember! ROFL
My avatar was drawn by another member batgirl, at my request. I have my left eye tatooed on my stomach. It's my signature on almost everything. So having one eye peeping out to watch you all on the...
I freaking hate shopping. If you want to make me start swearing, threaten to make me go shopping for anything.
I refuse to wear make-up.
I walk/run on my tiptoes. LOL
No I don't and I know my therapist didn't either. I have more major issues with dissassoication. I would fall under the DDNOS category. I do form attachments and they are strong, but they are carefuly built up. I think that those of us with CPTSD can fall under a few categories, but each of us...
Just over four years ago I had a best freind that loved me. I knew he wanted to take our relationship a further step but I was a mess. He respected that and never pushed. I moved here for help. Now we are rekindliing our freindship as a romance. He's going to come here and visit, I'm going to go...
If my symptoms flare up I lose weight like crazy. It's always been that way. When it calms down I have to fight to put them back on. It is very much the symptoms affecting my weight. (I count IBS as a symptom since it was caused by the PTSD to begin with.)
ROFL.. I get teenage supervision for the exact same things! My son told me he's scared to move out once done high school because I'll burn the house down! I promised I'd get a health care worker to supervise me cooking.
I'm also on disability. I call it my early retirement or sometimes refer to it as an extended leave of absence. People take time off work and go on disability for all sorts of things and this is just one of them. Time off for healing is time WELL SPENT.

Ouch. Glad to hear your home! I personally hate crutches being a hazard to myself and others.. I'm more prone to hurt myself with them then without them! LOL Wrap some sheepskin around the top of them so they don't rub or bruise under your arms as much. And just remember: crutches is like...
Can I come live where you are? LOL. It is so bad here Cops are now investigatiing docs because our prescription abuse has just exploded. I now live in the worst city in Canada for crime and prescription drug abuse (and that is without considering the numbers that are hidden!) and it's because...
Nope your not the only one. I can't think of any examples but I'm well known for bursting into hysterical laughter when I shouldn't be. My step-mom does the exact same thing. It's just a stress reaction.
Why someone can "get over" a relationship easier could be from many many things other than blocking out feelings. I am one of those "get over it quick" people, or so it seems to others. What others don't know (except those close to me) is that I have already worked through all the crap, grief...
Being very close to the Americian Border, I can see this influence in Canada. I've ran into at least five people in the last six months alone, that are claiming PTSD. When I started asking, who gave you the diagnosis? I get the doctor, I have trauma. I ask, well what tests have you undergone for...
Same crap, different day. I will answer ya Anthony. I believe new members come here and try to control everything because they are so out of control themselves! When your world falls apart around you what do you do? You try to control everything around you to stop it (which of course never works...
Suffer and support for me. I have not "survived" ptsd, I still have it! And really I despise the term carer. I do not need to be cared for thanks! I'm not a child and really dislike the reference as that is what it sounds like to me. A supporter would be so much more descriptive and less...
Hi Can Cop! I'm in Ontario. Although I'm not police-related, I do have PTSD and I'm on ODSP. I have freinds who have dealt with WSIB. It can get really ugly. My suggestion is to get a lawyer to help you navigate this mess. The red-tape you have to navigate can make normal people go mad with...
