Understand AI use at MyPTSD: all AI use is explained in our AI help page. AI use is by choice here. It exists if you want it, but does nothing unless you choose to use it.
The traumas did reeforce rhe belief you were raised is that the world is a hostile place. You obviously felt under threat.
IMO, it can be a factor in PTSD later in life after trauma(s)
You are handling this great. Sometimes the process is also healing. If reading it in court will help, no matter the outcome, do it. You can't control the sentence but you decide if you read it or not.
Whatever the choice, this letter can be used as a focus for therapy. Or some journal...
My therapist said something yesterday. I've had PTSD symptoms for decades. They were controlled. They interfered with some parts of my life but not all. For example, I never had a romantic or physical relationship since then. They didn't disturb me or how I functioned.
That's not the case...
Nothing is by accident. This TED Talk came up on my Podcast list. I needed to hear this message. This applies to so many of us. The last couple of minutes is the most powerful. It talks about being beautiful in the midst of failure and being a new person no matter what the situation. We can...
Every therapist is a bit different. Maybe it's time to see what you can learn from someone else too.
Ask your therapist to help with who he recommends and referral

Trauma changes things. One of the things I learned was that trauma changes how we feel/view ourselves, others, and the world.
I know I'm much more jaded about life, people, myself, the world than I used to be. I also don't see myself as valuable at all. Or likable. My T shocked me...
1. I must have a foul mouth. My autocorrect just defaulted to the word f*ck. I even write the word frequently never mind saying it. Oh, but a good swear word really expresses the anger and confusion so well. In such a short syllable.
2. It is hard to let anyone inside the defenses: I may...
Healing is a change. I think a lot of us fear change. It means: change. It also means being vulnerable to someone else by letting them inside your defenses. (The therapists) Trust is hard.

I'm not sure you have this in your community but there is a respite house here. It's run by the mental health crisis unit.
I'm not sure how it works on the "other side of the pond" but that may be something to check into.
Isn't talking being strong ?
