    Weighted blankets

Thanks @joeylittle , that thread was helpful. I wish they weren’t so expensive!

Has EMDR Worked For Anyone With Childhood Abuse PTSD?

I tried EMDR a little over a year ago. It was then that I learned that I dissociate & it was pretty bad. To the point that I would get in the car & drive & not know how I ended up in the opposite direction of my house after sessions. I never even knew what dissociation was or realized that I did...

    Weighted blankets

Hmm...scarf size is interesting. That would be a good start maybe to see if it helped. Thanks!

    Weighted blankets

Has anyone here tried the weighted blankets for help with anxiety, nightmares/sleep? I’ve been looking at them for a long time...they aren’t cheap so I just wondered how much they help. I hate to pay that much just to TRY something, but if it works it would be worth it. I wonder if it gets too...

To have a drink or not

I think the answer to that may be different for everyone & if you can handle it, I say go ahead. As for me, over the last few years...I CAN’T handle it anymore. I tend to drink too much every time in an attempt to squash any memories or feelings that come up & I think alcohol triggers a lot of...

Stellate ganglion block (sgb) for ptsd treatment

I posted something about it once & someone responded that they had done it. https://www.myptsd.com/threads/nerve-block-as-treatment-for-ptsd.70688/

Does anyone have issues connecting to their body?

Yoga has helped me a LOT. There are still times that I struggle but I have learned to be much more mindful about feeling things. I go to a restorative yoga class also & sometimes that is really hard for me because it is all about relaxing which is not an easy thing for me to do. Sometimes I just...

    Not answering emails

Yes I think it definitely needs to be explored a little more. So funny how you have those little breakthroughs when you are at your worst. :)

    Not answering emails

I guess it was the sudden lack of response that bothered me because she is usually very responsive. I told her sometimes I just need to know she’s there. Although...I think this brings up a lot of other things for me too....like all of the feelings that came up towards her for not...

    Not answering emails

All is okay. She said I’m not bothering her & she wants me to keep writing her & sometimes she doesn’t want to respond to heavy stuff if she doesn’t have time to sit & think about what she wants to say. She would rather talk about it. That’s understandable. & I explained how my mind works when...

    Not answering emails

I read old emails too @NightSky , but today I have that little voice that is telling me “she doesn’t feel that way now, you MUST have done something to screw it all up!” :(

    Not answering emails

She would probably tell me to stop catastrophising & to never ever apologize for emailing her. She would tell me it’s okay to be needy & to want to connect with her sometimes & that everything I’m feeling right now is all normal stuff. She would squash any idea that I’m a 3-eyed...

    Not answering emails

I keep typing out an apology email then deleting it. I don’t even know what I would be sorry for, it’s just this tendency to think everything is my fault or that somehow I’ve pushed her away without meaning to. My gosh I don’t want to look like a complete psycho my continuing to send emails with...

    Not answering emails

Yeah @Stephernovas ,there’s definitely some inner stuff going on at the moment & I feel angry for even having a “need” to hear from her or feel connected. I don’t NEED anyone so why is she any more important than anyone else right now?

    Not answering emails

I’m afraid that she will stop responding forever too @TexCat , I am trying to remember all of the times she has told me to never ever apologize for emailing her & that I have every right to share my feelings with her. Somehow the panic sets in & I immediately feel unworthy, unlovable, inferior...

    Not answering emails

i email my T pretty often. She has almost always responded. If not immediately, she usually responds eventually. I haven’t received an email from her in over a week. I’ve emailed her several times, nothing emergent but normally she would have responded. I am heartbroken & in need of some...

No fear? speaking in therapy is difficult, looking for encouragement.

Actually yes, I did. Immediately after & that’s when I sent the email & felt the need to explain myself better & express my fears that she might think or feel differently about me, although I don’t really think it was necessary. She was so understanding & accepting. She immediately reassured me...

No fear? speaking in therapy is difficult, looking for encouragement.

I did it! I managed to squeak it out! I did end up emailing what I wrote initially because it seemed like it made more sense than the fragments that I managed to get out of my mouth. She understood what I meant though.

I meant to tag @expectingbetter ! Sorry! Lol! See, I’m already flustered!

No fear? speaking in therapy is difficult, looking for encouragement.

I think I about to be very brave & vulnerable in therapy today. I almost emailed what i wanted to say, but decided its something that I really need to speak about with her. For anyone who has read my previous posts, speaking can be very very difficult for me in therapy. I will take any...

How Close Is Too Close For Therapists And Clients?

Thank you @UnicornSightings! Also remember that those with histories of trauma, when their stress cup is full (like when they are hospitalized), often feel the pain of everything all at once...many times it is the emotional pain that is the hardest for them. Something I know I’m all too familiar...
