What Are You Feeling Today? Not Thinking, Rather Feeling! Can You Identify Yours?

I had a minor meltdown before excusing myself from a situation to prevent escalation. Still made progress, I tried out a different coping skill and talked to a friend by phone to calm down after that set me off. Still moving in the right direction even if it's a bumpy ride sometimes...

    An Aha Moment

The best part is you might get this 'aHA!' moment a few times- I know I did. For safety purposes, just try to ask yourself 'Why not?' every so often to make sure it's somewhat reasonable. I know my first big A-ha was buying the groceries I wanted to eat, the latest is blue hair. If you'd like...

Tell Or Keep My Mouth Shut?

Oh, I know exactly what you mean- we've probably got similar tales of what makes the risk of hospitals so very scary. @Go Hungry totally nailed it, establish that there's a baseline level of the ideas and it does not indicate plans or intent. I know it's a comforting thought, I think of it as...

What Are You Feeling Today? Not Thinking, Rather Feeling! Can You Identify Yours?

Not sure, it changes every ten minutes or so. Mostly okay, few bursts of depressive stuff, and this weird undercurrent I don't know a word for.

What Are You Feeling Today? Not Thinking, Rather Feeling! Can You Identify Yours?

My body is achy and tired, but my mind is kind of okay. Meds change adjustment again- going well enough thus far.

What Are You Feeling Today? Not Thinking, Rather Feeling! Can You Identify Yours?

A bit confused about why I'm crying. Nope, I've got no clue. Afraid to let anyone see me like this, especially if I can't explain why.

What Are You Feeling Today? Not Thinking, Rather Feeling! Can You Identify Yours?

@The Albatross funny you of all people should ask- my first tool is music, strongest tonic in my auditory apothecary is currently Echoes (the albatross) by Pink Floyd, the Pompeii 24 minute version. A few repeats of that song and some coloring should get me re-balanced and back to center.

What Are You Feeling Today? Not Thinking, Rather Feeling! Can You Identify Yours?

I'm all jitters and nerves from dealing with my parents coming over to help with the yard stuff. They're gone now, so in a couple hours I should calm down and stop flinching. Flashes of anger too, because I know it'd be pointless trying to explain any of this again. I'm diagnosed and...

What Unconventional Ideas Helped Your Recovery?

My best self-esteem trick is very NSFW, I re-enact the 'Goodbye Horses' scene from Silence of the Lambs where Buffalo is dancing in front of the mirror, except I think of the Clerks 2 version because Jay just does it better. It's crass and vulgar, but that works just fine for me.

    For Me This Is Tremendous!

I would've put this on the 'accomplishments' board, because you really accomplished something big- you reached out, spoke openly to your sibling and were honest with them. That is tremendous, and very awesome. Nicely done!

What Are You Feeling Today? Not Thinking, Rather Feeling! Can You Identify Yours?

I'm just numb enough to notice that I'm going numb. Not a great sign, but being aware of it means I'll be able to work on it.

What Are You Feeling Today? Not Thinking, Rather Feeling! Can You Identify Yours?

I'm stunned to realize how uptight I really am about money. I had a fraud scare and froze my accounts, it should work out just fine because I caught it quickly, but I'm frozen out of my accounts until it's sorted out. Never occurred to me that money plays such a big role in me feeling safe-...

What Are You Feeling Today? Not Thinking, Rather Feeling! Can You Identify Yours?

Hugs- soo many hugs- they're free so please take a few, I like ya. I've got my usual after 'T-time' tiredness. I may have just handled some anxiety-related stuff fairly well? I need to think about that for a while and see if it's healthy or just different.

    Sorry....

Caught myself, almost started with "I'm sorry to hear so many of you also over-apologize..." So, yeah, it's a problem, one that I'm somewhat aware of. A friend and mutual support buddy points it out sometimes that I don't need to be sorry for certain things. It's hard to adjust to only being...

What Are You Feeling Today? Not Thinking, Rather Feeling! Can You Identify Yours?

@gizmo Thinking of you, hugs and positive good stuffs, it's hard but you're handling everything very well so far. @Lionheart777 Congrats on the awesome progress, that's very difficult to do. I'm grateful that it's a cold yucky day outside, that delays yard chores and my parents 'helping' by...

What Are You Feeling Today? Not Thinking, Rather Feeling! Can You Identify Yours?

Today I'm exhausted and things ache. That's okay though because I left the house and was social last night, that's good progress. I fought through the anxious-depressed-scared funk and went out. I'm allowed to be tired and slack off after doing that.

What Are You Feeling Today? Not Thinking, Rather Feeling! Can You Identify Yours?

Still trying to break up the fight between myself and I. I'm losing, stressed myself into feeling ill and cancelled my plans to go out for the night. Instead I'll stay home alternating between crying spells and fits of terror over pretty much nothing. If I try really really hard, maybe I...

What Are You Feeling Today? Not Thinking, Rather Feeling! Can You Identify Yours?

I'm upset with myself, forgot my evening meds last night and somehow slept without them. I'm a mess, and yelling at myself for being a mess. I know it was a mistake and I shouldn't be so mean to me, but I think the medication plays some role in keeping my brain from self destructing.

The Sound Of Children Playing Outside Upsets Me

My own history is not as severe, but I get jittery when the neighbor kids get too excited and noisy while they play. They're kids and probably have a predictable routine. Turn up your stereo, run the vacuum, anything that makes a sound will be good while the kids are out playing. It hasn't...

What Are You Feeling Today? Not Thinking, Rather Feeling! Can You Identify Yours?

I'm trying to hold on to the present reality because I don't want to be scared of things that I'm sure are not really there. Taking my meds a bit late this morning seems to have complicated that process.

Hard Time With Friendships And Going Out

What about trying it in smaller pieces? Instead of going for coffee or something with a friend, go in and pick up a carryout if that's all you're comfortable doing. Small steps towards where you want to be will still get you there, and yes, the slowness frustrates me too. The friends worth...

    I Need To Fix It

Yep. That freak-out doesn't mix well with the frustration of it either. It makes my brain sputter like it might stall out and it's a really bad neighborhood inside in my head. Fix it, fix ALL the things!

Adult Coloring Books And Stress Reduction

Coloring is awesome! If I'm stressed or struggling to focus I'll take a little break to color for a few minutes. It's getting easier to find the good coloring books too. I've seen them in book stores, certain craft shops and then online- some sites have printable coloring pages. For the...

What Are You Feeling Today? Not Thinking, Rather Feeling! Can You Identify Yours?

aww geez, hugs to everyone, take a few if you need em. I'm feeling something that doesn't make it past the filters. There's some emotion there, no clue what or why, but it's coming out in uncomfortable ways. That might be a good thing, I'm not sure yet.

    Reality Checking

I usually try to play that off as sarcasm. Humor is subjective enough that some will think they just didn't get the joke. It's hard to do it the first few times, but learn to laugh when the awkward silence gets too loud. Maybe that's a bad idea, I'm not sure. I usually try to have a...
