Thank you. I have nearly 20 years on the job. I ended up getting lucky with my Med retirement because here in North Carolina i will retire with 25 years and get that pay. It's a special thing the State does when you have nearly 20 years but going out on Med Ret.

Thank you very much...the only time i heard that was when my two friends were killed in the line of duty. My ptsd started after they were murdered. I have started the Medical retirement application. My dr has already signed off on the paperwork.

Most police are prior active or serving in guard or reserve while serving in LE. A lot of my LE friends went to Iraq and Afghanistan.

They couldn't even locate a phd or md that did ptsd...let a lone LE ptsd. My father in law has ptsd from vietnam..i can relate with him. I think all police and military can realte one way or another

My new therapist and psychiatrist don't specialize in ptsd...seeing them the end of then week. If I lived closer to Fort Bragg and Fort Jackson i could probably get one that does ptsd.

My psychiatrist in the program was an army psychiatrist served in Iraq, then worked at Walter Reed and then worked for the VA. He has lots of experience with ptsd.

Very true in regards to similar culture and being kicked to curb. When i left the hospital i was placed in a Partial Hospitalization Program and that ends wednesday.
