So let the body count rack up while we wait for a flawless solution to present itself.
Radical Muslims are never going to be interested in uniting with you. What don't you understand about that? Stop worrying about stepping on people's toes and start worrying about saving your own skin.
Where did I say I wanted to prevent anyone new from becoming a Muslim? We didn't have a Muslim problem in this country before immigration from Muslim countries, and I don't think we'd have one if it were to cease. Or should I be worried about vast numbers of Polish Catholics in Chicago suddenly...
After these attacks, a certain type of commentor always says we must not allow fear and anger to dictate our policies. Then they turn around and evoke historical boogie men so that fear and anger can dictate our polices.
What I mean is even if non-radicalized Muslims and radicalized Muslims hate each other, should we continue to let Muslims immigrate here when is it impossible for us to know which of them are radicalized? And when a ban on all Muslim immigration would save lives with zero ill effects on our...
So let's say for argument's sake that ISIS and terrorists in general are not synonymous with Muslims --heck, let's say they despise each other. Is this a valid reason to keep immigration from Muslim countries flowing into the West, when it is clear that a ban would save lives and have virtually...
And if that's your point of view, I am not going to try to censor it or brand it, "apologist speech." So why are posters with different viewpoints censored and their observations branded "hate speech?"
So we know they believe in it and are acting on that belief, and they will face justice....after they do it and are caught. That's cold comfort to the victims, to say the least.
The operative word here is "wishes." They're not actually doing it, at least not on the level of the Jihadists.
This has to be the height of irony after last night's attack.
But what if your "theology" explicitly calls for the murder of nonbelievers and other crimes? What if a bunch of rapists decided that God said, "Be fruitful and multiply," and their interpretation of this is to procreate by any means necessary? They've formed a new sect around this and are...
I agree that crying about scapegoating is a little trivial at this stage. Sorry to say it, but there's never going to be a flawless solution to a problem like this. Hard problems get hard solutions.
If it's Western governments' policies in those countries that are angering them, why do we never see them targeting the policy makers? It's always civilians who likely have no idea what's going on in those countries. That's what's really baffling.
@EveHarrington, that's fine. I've just noticed a lot of people in the media calling these attacks "senseless tragedies," and it irks me. It's like they're trying to preempt you thinking about them and looking for the actual cause or something.
I respect that you don't want to get into an ugly debate here. I just want to say this wasn't "senseless." It was a premeditated act of war. The assailant knew what he was doing. The only thing senseless is our limp noodle response to it.
As do I for saying this, but here goes. If it weren't for France's liberal immigration policy, the attack tonight, the Paris attacks last November, and the Charlie Hebdo attack would never have happened. This is a FACT however politically incorrect.
:hilarious: I don't know if you meant that in a somber tone, but it actually made me laugh. Best quip I've heard in a while, albeit a dark one. Funny 'cause it's true.
I don't want to hijack your thread, so could you maybe PM me and tell me if you know why my PTSD is causing convulsions and how to make them stop? None of the therapists I've seen can explain it. Thanks.
I would differentiate between trauma and PTSD here. A lot of therapists will hear trauma and think ,"Ok, some unpleasant event that happened in the past." In fact what we need is someone who understands it as a condition that exists in the present. Unfortunately, I'm finding therapists who...
Ah, Tinder. Read an article in Vanity Fair a while back about Tinder and the "dating apocalypse." Nice to know it's obliterating relationships for married people too now. There's a warm seat in hell for the founder that app.
I second the posters who say one happy parent is better than two...
I'll start by saying, wow, what and ass%ole.
Also, I'm confused by this.
So what happened with the five women that he wasn't "physical" with? Were they just dates? Also, how do you even get that many dates in three months? Is he using a dating app or something?
About a week ago, I had sort of day of reckoning with my childhood trauma. It was a different kind of hell than the one I'm used to. It wasn't just thinking about it; it's like it was descending on me from outside myself, and there wasn't any way I could evade it. I basically felt like I was...
