General Is it common to hold onto things?

I think she mentioned in one of her other posts her guy had combat ptsd and that would be to late in life to have non-secure attachment from developmental trauma, wouldn’t it? But then of course one can have two kinds of trauma.

Relationship Why is he suddenly feeling disrespected?

Unfortunately @Friday told me she thinks an outdoor park is a bad idea. I meant to say she told me she thinks a climbing park is a bad idea ??????????and I think she has medical expertise.

General Is it common to hold onto things?

I am not sure if it is common. I just know my Vet does it too. sometimes I think it is silly. When wechsle an argument he likes to bring up everything wrong I ever did/said during our whole relationship just because he is running out of arguments like “I may be wrong in this case but in the past...

    General What are they thinking?

??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? We talked about taking the kids to an outdoor climbing park (including climbing walls) and thought it was halfway safe at least if we have disinfecting wipes for our hands. Right now...

    General What are they thinking?

Actually I tried to find out what the RKI (our state CDC) or the local GA (local CDC) said about it but neither had any guidelines. I wish to show him evidence that it is totally safe but just could not find any... also no evidence that it is unsafe. I think it is safe. I never heard of this...

Relationship Why is he suddenly feeling disrespected?

Basically I told him that I ask him as his lady to do this for us (if a man fancies a women and wants to do things for her you say she is his lady, right?) I told him it is pretty safe. Infection is up to 19 times as likely to take place indoors as outdoors. He was afraid because the kids might...

Relationship Why is he suddenly feeling disrespected?

It’s a good question. I mean we still have community spread. Not sure what the future might bring. I am not so happy with our MP (equivalent of a governor)... but I hope that one day we will be a green zone despite of him. Public playgrounds have reopened and shopping is allowed... but a lot of...

    General What are they thinking?

Yes, we do eat hotdogs at home and it’s okay with him. We do that all of the time. What I wanted to say is: I take the kids to a nature sanctuary and nearby there is such a little booth selling postcards, toys, hotdogs and so on... and he wont allow us to buy hotdogs there because he doesn’t...

Relationship Why is he suddenly feeling disrespected?

I think he does understand that right now the risk of catching the coronavirus + dying from it are actually small and that even if we catch it we most likely won’t die... but he thinks: what if it still happens? He wants zero coronavirus risk. This area here suffered much. None of our loved ones...

    General What are they thinking?

That’s a good idea but currently unfortunately our Vet has his own safety protocol for the things we eat: must be wrapped in plastic or can be boiled, fried, peeled or at least washed with dishwashing liquid. We also bake our own bread (it’s okay, the kids love it).

Relationship Why is he suddenly feeling disrespected?

Are you and your vet disappointed in how your state handles the corona pandemic? Masks are political here too but fortunately right now we have compulsory mask use in many areas of our lifes. There is however a political debate about that. I think mask use has helped our country a lot. You know...

    General TBI and PTSD resources

Welcome to the boards @GoldieT. Which kind of resources are you looking for? Also books and articles? I am not saying that you doing that but I think you cannot learn everything or most things about being in a relationship with a vet with ptsd from resources... because he is always an unique...

    General What are they thinking?

Actually what you describe right here. Sorry to talk about vet + the coronavirus again... but I think thats exactly how my vet sees the coronavirus. Like: you make a little mistake and it only waits for that and kills you. Like it’s somehow scheming, plotting to hurt as many people as possible...

Relationship Why is he suddenly feeling disrespected?

Thats not good. Where I am from companies often send people with diabetes or other preexisting conditions into remote working (if possible... btw do you use the word “homeoffice“ for remote working?). Diabetes is on the lists our CDCs have: preexisting conditions that make you highrisk COVID-19...

Relationship Why is he suddenly feeling disrespected?

Yes, now that you say it. That could be true. They say there might be a vaccination by this Christmas. They are already producing the little glass bottles. It will suck until then but it’s most likely true. He will come out of this stronger... and me too. I actually have a good feeling about my...

Relationship Why is he suddenly feeling disrespected?

Let me think. He had breakfast yesterday instead of a candybar and I may be wrong but I always have the feeling that a real breakfast improves his mood. (He has a new scent that he says makes him feel good... errrr... wasn’t sure if I should mention that here because I think according to some a...

Relationship Why is he suddenly feeling disrespected?

Sorry, I didn’t want to say your vet was weak and defenseless. It is similar here to what you describe (only with mich less cases). Corona related decisions are now made by the federal states (and in some cases even by cities or city districts, depending on which kind of decision). Some federal...

Relationship Why is he suddenly feeling disrespected?

Yes, I think that people’s reaction has shaken my vet in a way. When this just started there was some panic buying and my vet went shopping. You know we had prepped a lot of stuff before, but we needed some fresh stuff, because we are a big family, because I cooked for the other kids I...

Black Lives Matter - a converstation

That reminds me of my aunt who is dead now and she grew up under communist rule where our kind of family was discriminated against. However she was a genius cook - when we came for dinner first she had soup, then roast, then cake and always so much for everybody. Loved going there as a kid. She...

Relationship Why is he suddenly feeling disrespected?

It’s sounds pretty scary what you say about your country and I hope you are safe ? Yes, I think this thing is traumatizing him more. It shatters his world view - and I think it endangers what he learned in therapy. My vet used to feel that Germany was relatively safe. Don’t get me wrong. He...

Relationship Why is he suddenly feeling disrespected?

*lol* Actually that sounds fun ? but according to what my vet learned part of your back stays stiff if they put metall in there. That’s why he didn’t want it. Did that happen to him? Of course I respect your privacy. How does your vet feel about hospitals today? How does he feel about the...

Relationship Why is he suddenly feeling disrespected?

@Thanks for your support @Ronin. Makes me feel less alone ? @Sweetpea76 My vet had a vertebral fracture on his spine and he is not a paraplegic. I mean a person who sits in a wheelchair. Is that the word? But I think there was the danger - at least this is what he feared. They suggested they...

Relationship Why is he suddenly feeling disrespected?

Have to add that in the hospital they asked him if he wanted to talk to a clergyman. He said “Yes, please“... well time went on, no clergyman the next day but a lady asked him if he wanted to talk to one and they said he would most likely be there the next day. Next day came but no clergyman, he...

Relationship Why is he suddenly feeling disrespected?

No, currently unfortunately he is not seeing anybody. But yes, she helped him... well, helped him the cruelly way... like made him touch trash, first touch it for a short while, then touch it for longer, then touch even longer and he was not allowed to shower when he came home (and he was...

Relationship Why is he suddenly feeling disrespected?

Well I am it a doctor but I think in my country hydroxychloroquin is given at an early stage of infection. I think sometimes even prophylactic (if someone has been exposed, say there is a COVID outbreak in a meat packing plant and a high number of people working there are tested positive, then...
