General Everybody so strict about table manners, unable to eat?

Yeah, I think he likes it. I think he believes in division of labour. He doesn’t expect me to work. I do not have to work outside the home if I do not want to and he doesn’t have to think about meal planning if he does not want to. I also think he feels loved if you do things for him... and...

General Everybody so strict about table manners, unable to eat?

I do think that vet likes being praised. I think so because he gives you a smile or a nod or says “Thank you, darling“ if you praise him. Is there the possibility he hates it? I cannot rule it out but I think it is unlikely or he would say it, wouldn’t he? I do not think he has always low...

General Everybody so strict about table manners, unable to eat?

Vet actually like yoghurts (the sweetened ones with fruit or chocolate) nearly as much as junk food but now is avoiding them. However we never buy the probiotic ones because they are so expensive... maybe we should start. However right now he is avoiding yoghurts (because of milk). He wants to...

General Everybody so strict about table manners, unable to eat?

Yes, he thinks that milk makes that worse... and currently he is drinking almond milk and I cook milk free food even for the things which typically have milk like cake... but that is just because he was feeling so unwell... so he decided this and most likely he will try lactose free milk soon...

General Everybody so strict about table manners, unable to eat?

Hey... just a quick question. Probiotics have been mentioned on this thread. I used to think probiotics were supposed to help against diarrhea. Talking about the yoghurt, right? Vet is actually trying to avoid “normal“ milk products because he thinks that makes it worse... but I also did some...

General Everybody so strict about table manners, unable to eat?

Well... I am sorry, this has happened to you but this has really nothing to do with my Vet‘s situation. Some people in our family tell him he is being fat. His little brother is one of the worst, tells him he has a fat ass and so on... but I don’t. I am worried about his diet because a doctor...

General Everybody so strict about table manners, unable to eat?

Boy, I am really feeling a bit judged here. Okay... I‘ll start being judge then too... I think it is very wrong to blame your Ex husband for your choices. I cannot even count how many people made comments about my weight, my looks, my clothes, my graces or lack thereof, my manners, the way I...

General Everybody so strict about table manners, unable to eat?

Why would you feel like crap if somebody praised you? Vet didn’t sleep well for nights and then we went hiking and one could notice he was very tired, by the way he sighed and so on but trying to suck it up and mostly cheerful and chatting with the kids, went without coffee because hoped for...

Actually technically speaking he is overweight. His BMI makes him slightly overweight... but he doesn’t look overweight to me, just a bit pudgy. He has got lots of muscles and they are heavier than fat. His doctor said his diet is lousy abused him having GI issues and may lead to diabetes heart...

General Constipation, having to spend lots of time in the bathroom

Just wanted to make that clear here because @Sideways asked on another thread... and I see this can be misunderstood and make people worry. His constipation is already better... and he often has trouble eating. So this is not what gave him trouble eating.

General Everybody so strict about table manners, unable to eat?

I see your point... but what if he wouldn’t eat for a while. I wonder if this was okay from a medical point of view when he has already trouble in the bathroom. I fear it would not be. I am trying to be very nice, like praising him for eating right and not guilt tripping him.

General Everybody so strict about table manners, unable to eat?

I am happy I have table manners (I hope I have table manners) and I hope our children will grow up to have table manners, but I think that making somebody stand attention to teach them about table manners is the wrong way. That is too strict parenting to my mind and I think it made vet feel...

General Everybody so strict about table manners, unable to eat?

General Everybody so strict about table manners, unable to eat?

Sorry this off-topic but I couldn’t disagree more. I think my vet is not ill-mannered and impolite... he just sometimes has no table manners. However I know some men, who as soon as they where married became ill-mannered and impolite. Sorry to say this, but those men would not be married to me...

General Everybody so strict about table manners, unable to eat?

I do not say much about his table manners nowadays... but they are horrible... and I think it might be because he has trouble with food. I’ll describe what I am talking about: Sometimes he doesn’t sit down and just eats while standing while everybody else sits there... eats everything with his...

Sufferer Trapped, Lost, and Drowning in my diagnosis.

Welcome to the boards @Trapped_Lost I am a mother too and was a young mother and know it is sometimes hard to care for a young child (even if you do not have ptsd) but I think if you feel unable to take care of yourself and your son this is a warning sign. Do you have somebody to discuss this...

General Everybody so strict about table manners, unable to eat?

My vet has combat ptsd, not strict parenting ptsd (or whatever the name for this may be). However he was also brought up quite strict. His parents, his nannies, his school all wanted to have him good table manners. We are from Europe as you know, where such things might be more important and...
